Chuck just did what few would ... kudos to him for having that courage. Not a smart move for someone who just signed a last chance agreement.

Talked to another person echo is close to the situation and Chucks pay seem to bear out.
I was also told that the allegation is trying to covet up for a lot of worse behaviour from other coaches in the program. I don't know when the rumors will hit the news or whether they actually will. But my friend says there are dead fish aplenty.

well I hope he consulted with an attorney before crafting that response.

well I hope he consulted with an attorney before crafting that response. So he could sue for malpractice? No competent attorney would condone a response like that.

Not a smart move for someone who just signed a last chance agreement. When is defending yourself a bad decision? Doesn't seem to work out for anyone, not that I disagree, but every time someone steps up and says "HEY this is the deal" they get skewered.

Some hills are worth defending and some battles are worth fighting.

Not a smart move for someone who just signed a last chance agreement. When is defending yourself a bad decision? Defending yourself before signing a last chance agreement makes sense. Defending yourself publicly after signing one is risky for a lot of reason (including that you might defend yourself badly). Defending yourself with your real name on Volleytalk is always a bad decision.

A few months ago I’d say BS that these are lies because I coached for years without a single complaint. Lets just say I have a different perspective now.
Hope the allegations are false and you keep your job

Defending yourself with your real name on Volleytalk is always a bad decision. hiding behind screennames on the internet is so much more honorable

Hats off to administration with a desire to develop their coaches. This is the rare trait anymore.
Very few coaches I know are mistake free. It’s how we respond and our administration responds. Fortunately for Chuck, his administration took a develop mindset.
As Geno Auriemma said before the final four for WBB, most coaches are scared of their athletes. Unfortunately, this is true. Every one of us coaches is one pissed off parent/player away from being un-hirable. “Investigation” is the new buzzword and normally means goodbye for all involved.

Man, the times now are SO different than during my career; your points are spot-on. Btw: instead of being a mistake ID'ing himself here, I feel he showed real VT cojones!

I’m not sure I understand this: “The conditioning work was a secondary Level III/secondary NCAA violation because it was countable athletic related activities after competition.” Teams do this sort of stuff after matches all the time? So I’m unsure how this is considered a violation?
