What I have learned from scouring the foreign press for volleyball news is that we will more than likely get reliable news quicker from overseas than USAV will announce. This was the case the Jaeschke's injury when it initially happened. The Italian press had a statement from Verona saying that he tore his ACL much earlier than USAV. It was also reported in Italy sometime in the late winter or early spring that the recovery was not as fast as had hoped, and he will not be playing this year. I think with that being the case it is a pretty safe assumption that he is not quite match fit. Maybe he is. If he were ready to go, Speraw and Co. might want him to dress out, see the court, and get touches at full-speed. I am not as concerned for next summer. I think he will be starting at Verona and the club season will get him to as good as he is going to be. In my mind, I think it will be pretty top notch. Perhaps, my anger/beef was not clear. The OP post inside.volleycountry.com was the statement "Jaeschke didnt recover well after surgery and he still has shape problems. He meant that his (high level) comeback is doubtful." I dont like nor appreciate that kind of comment on a young athlete's career. It can be damaging and one that appears to have grown traction in the rumor mill. Thats what fired me up. As some of you have reposted , we expect a full recover and for him to be ready at the end of the summer. That is what I expect and hope too. We will know....when we know....the rest is just poppycock. I love that you used the word poppycock 🥰🥰🥰

Your weird habit of taking offense at criticism of athletes that you don't know and have never met is... concerning, and probably should be addressed with your therapist this week. They're professional athletes.

Just watched match highlights, ma’a On the left? Yup, I'm not sure how I feel about it. I really like Ma'a and think he brings a lot to the table, but I'm not sure if OH is where he should be. I like him at setter and want to see him at least play a full set there.

Can anyone help me grasp the reasoning behind Muagututia still being on the roster? Never understood what he brings to the baby. His serve is somewhat strong, but I don't think I can stand him starting another set for the US. Everyone looks fit and comfortable in the USA jersey. DeFalco wears a jersey too big for his size but it looks good, where Muagagaga makes the jersey look like a pancho. Looks worse when his technical ability is non-existent.
Anyways, how much longer till Dave Woz or Chavers take his spot?

Im not certain we will see all our main guns and if so not until the very last week if at all. The VNL on both sides is really lackluster ( womens side is even less high level imo) so far but Im alright with that This pro season took its toll, and the USA is not alone in rehabilitation of players.

Thank you. Even though the VNL is lackluster, still very entertaining to watch exciting players such as K Russel, Stahl, J Richards and so on. But watching Muagututia has been a struggle. Not worth the price of Kiddie Land admission

I'm also looking forward to Dagostino getting some playing time. Definitely was a standout when I watched Stanford this past year.

Kinda surprised that Christenson and Holt suited up so early. If Christenson is going, why even bring K Shoji? I’d like Tuaniga and Ma’a travel with him. 3 setter situation is weird. Last week during pregame warnings, Tuaniga and Ma’a had to split time setting practice cos apparently u can’t ask the veteran to take a seat.
