I’m a bit behind on Canada men - where is Gavin Schmitt? I'm a terrible Canadian, as I have no clue, I just found out Sanders had a back injury lol. The last I remember was Schmitt had retired from the National team following Rio, but then he was on the roster at VNL last year. So, not overly sure. I don't think he was starting last summer eithr, but I could very well be wrong about that. |

So, Speraw is staying back from Bulgaria along with the top players and sending a young roster per Paul Sunderland. My guess on next week's 14 is:
S: Ma'a, Tuaniga
OPP: Ensing, K. Russell
MH: Averill, Jendryk, Stahl (is he healthy??), ??
L: Dagostino, Tuileta
OH: Jaeschke, DeFalco, Muagututia, ?? Maybe Aaron Russell?? Ma'a as OH and bring Saeta as a Setter since he's on the roster? Is Langlois healthy? He's on the 25 person roster. Same with Dan McDonnell.

Ma'a as OH and bring Saeta as a Setter since he's on the roster? Is Langlois healthy? He's on the 25 person roster. Same with Dan McDonnell. I forget who said it, but Mcdonnell is injured. No clue about Langlois, I hope he isn't there. I hope Jaeschke, DeFalco, Ensing and A. Russell are at least there, otherwise I won't know what to watch online next week haha. |

I wouldnt send ANY of the top 12 players to Bulgaria. Why? Keep them home, lift, train together and stay acclimated to the time zone. You have a few other dudes,not on the VNL roster, back from Mexico to train with. |

Keep them home, lift, train together and stay acclimated to the time zone. You have a few other dudes,not on the VNL roster, back from Mexico to train with. I 100% agree. That would be ideal. My statement was more to do with roster makeup and needing vets to go due to numbers (thinking mostly of OH and MB). Like they technically could send the remaining three Liberos that are on the VNL roster to help put 14 on the Bulgaria roster, but that doesn't make sense! Langlois was on week 1. He may be there again. And I may get my mornings back next weekend!  |

I mean no one can touch the "big 5" but sanders pre-injury had a good case of the being the best outside of that group Canada has a brutal last week draw with Italy, Brazil and France, all teams vying for the remaining 5 spots and even a bye There is no bye in the finals. 6 teams play in two pools of three teams. After pool play (2 matches for each team), top two teams in each pool advance to the semi-finals. |

As I said weeks ago, too weak at the OH, and setter for that matter. First appearance of Sanders and he is ok at best compared to top setters in the world. I mean no one can touch the "big 5" but sanders pre-injury had a good case of the being the best outside of that group What’s the big 5? |
