Watten got action in Berlin's Championship win over Friedrichshafen.

Jendryk and Patch were very good with 13 and 29 points in the title match.


Another good year all around for many many of our USA guys overseas.

If Patch could develop a half-decent float serve, he wouldn't be such a liability for the US. Watching him perpetually miss his serves is painful. Was he any better at BYU?

I think Speraw and co. have done some really nice things with this roster. Great to see some young guys getting into the fold (ie. Huhmann, Ma'a, all of LBSU) and I especially like the attempt at integrating/developing the younger generation of liberos to find Shoji's replacement in Tui and Dagostino. One criticism I do have is the absence of James Shaw. I know that he's transitioned to oppo and last I heard, suffered an injury in Poland that forced him to leave his club team, but are you really telling me that he isn't better/has more potential than Carson Clark or Garrett Muagututia?

are you really telling me that he isn't better/has more potential than Carson Clark or Garrett Muagututia? 

I dont see it either however I do know that some coaches need or like to keep certain types of players in the gym for the well being of the team and program. The intangibles that I think many of us understand and respect.

As to James I too would like to see him on this roster but perhaps it can be added too later and perhaps he is and will be training there.

a healthy Lucarelli with the addition of Leal to the roster makes for a scary pair of outsides on Brazil. It's crazy how much depth they have, lots of guys on the bench would start on most other programs.
