Haha! VNL Finals is even still a long shot this year! But possible! Langlois probably never gets off the bench this weekend if DeFalco wasn’t injured. Shows where he was at in the order of OHs. It’s a great problem to have! So, I’ve talked myself into thinking that even though he played well, he won’t be there next week unless Jaeschke and DeFalco are ruled out. I am intrigued by the idea of Huhmann over Averill. He was impressive. But still feel like they’ll take the veteran. Nah, I definitely think he gets off the bench. Otherwise, why bring him. He might have only played in the Iran match though.

I honestly do not think that was a guarantee. Jarman was called up and was used as a substitute in one set at the end of the match against Serbia. Langlois's performance was truly encouraging considering the years he has had as a professional thus far. This past season in Poland was pretty dismal. The team was in disarray, there was a coaching change in the middle of the year, and they only survived relegation because another club shut down during the season. He had a back injury, and he even had to play middle blocker for a few matches. He averaged only about 7.5 points per match and 2.2 points per set played. He killed at a rate of 43%, hitting .267, and less than 20% of his passes were classified as excellent. It is very difficult to recover from such a tough situation so early in one's career in the top tiers of volleyball. I hope he gets himself in a better situation next season, and I hope this performance this weekend might make some clubs want to take a chance on him.

So, I’m guessing the Bulgaria roster is either home or on their way home and we should be seeing Finals roster in the next day or two.
I’m going with the following for the remaining five spots.
Jendryk Averill Jaeschke K. Shoji Dagostino
I don’t know if they ever would (or if they can), but I wonder if the second Libero being left behind for another OH (DeFalco if not injured). But that may be a long shot...just a thought knowing there is a day break and Shoji is a stud.
Either way, I think it’s a roster that will win Gold (homer pick!)

Anybody have a general timeline on when Stahl will be available to play again?

Anybody have a general timeline on when Stahl will be available to play again? I thought it was 6-8 weeks. And he’s been out for what...2 weeks??

When the FIVB made the move to 14 players, a stipulation was that one of those extra players had to be another libero.

My picks:
Christenson, Ma’a, Anderson, Patch, A. Russell, Sander, Muagututia, DeFalco, Holt, Smith, Jendryk, Huhmann, E. Shoji, Dagostino.
If DeFalco is injured then I would bring Jaeschke. Stahl would be here if not injured too. I like Huhmann but I know he won’t get the nod. I like Ma’a. K. Shoji will probably get the nod but I’m sticking with the youngster here.
Muagututia has really proven himself but then again this is the VNL. The competition is much stiffer in the World Cup. I’m not sure he will be as effective. For now he has earned his spot.
Having that day off during the third round is awesome. I still think we will see some of the bench get some court time. Our pool is pretty tough. France and Russia will come to play for sure!

The women's team was officially announced Saturday, so are we expecting the men's team to be announced in the next 2-3 days as well?

France does not really care much for VNL. They will play the finals without 4 starters: Ngapeth, Boyer, Le Goff and Grebennikov. OPP: Patry OH: Clevenot, Rossard, Lynnel, Tillie, Louati MB: Le Roux, Chinenyeze, Bultor, Aguenier S: Toniutti, Brizard L: Nicolas Rossard They are sending only 13 players. www.volleyball.it/vnl-francia-alle-f6-senza-ngapeth-grebennikov-e-boyer/

That's an automatic loss.
