That's still a solid line of talent there but no Grebennikov? That's an automatic loss. Ill take it an say thanks . Hahaha. I mean I'm happy for it too. But as a fan of the sport in general, watching Grebennikov play libero is always a great time, especially when it's against A Team talent.

Does anyone know when the official 14 player rosters for the Finals will be released? The women’s was officially announced Saturday the 29th, my guess is the men’s will also be announced tomorrow. Same amount of days between the announcement and the first match is why I think that.

Omg we’ve been waiting long enough 😭😂 I know lol. I thought for sure it would have been announced today...and nothing :S It’s actually kind of ridiculous. They had to have chosen the team already. It looks like they are still in California, so at least the team isn’t in Chicago with no official word from USAV. On another note, the social media presence from the men’s side is really, really poor. Nothing on their own Instagram since June of 2018 (posts or stories). Not even sure if they have a Facebook or twitter page. The women’s side does a really good job. The men’s is just bad. They depend on the USAVolleyball account to post in between junior tournaments.

My picks: Christenson, Ma’a, Anderson, Patch, A. Russell, Sander, Muagututia, DeFalco, Holt, Smith, Jendryk, Huhmann, E. Shoji, Dagostino. If DeFalco is injured then I would bring Jaeschke. Stahl would be here if not injured too. I like Huhmann but I know he won’t get the nod. I like Ma’a. K. Shoji will probably get the nod but I’m sticking with the youngster here. Muagututia has really proven himself but then again this is the VNL. The competition is much stiffer in the World Cup. I’m not sure he will be as effective. For now he has earned his spot. Having that day off during the third round is awesome. I still think we will see some of the bench get some court time. Our pool is pretty tough. France and Russia will come to play for sure! This is pretty much it. Averill, Mcdonnell and Stahl are unavailable. No need to bring 2 liberos Lib: E. Shoji OH Russell, Sander, Jaeschke, Muagututia OPP :Anderson, Patch MB: Smith,Holt, Jendryk , Huhmann Set: Christenson, K. Shoji , Ma'a

Any word on Russia’s line up yet? France likely won’t make it out of the pool without Grebennikov, E’Ngapeth, LeGoff and Boyer. We really need to go top of the pool to avoid Brazil in the cross over. I feel like Poland with out Kurek and Leon won’t be impossible to topple and I’m not sure Iran can keep this going though they have had a good tournament so far.

It is advantageous having the Wed / Fri match but our main guys are so well rested and strong we may just play them all of Wed and most of Fri to get their competition mindset back up to speed.

Someone had mentioned that to me last week when I wondered if they would only bring Shoji as Libero and add another player (like an additional setter). I do think this is pretty close to what the Finals roster is. I think they are now in Chicago, so roster has to be coming today, right?!?!
