So far we have social media evidence of: Jendryk, Christensen, Anderson, Jaeschke, Ma’a, Shoji x2, Patch, Holt, Sander. Anyone else? Nope! Although there is social media evidence of Dustin Watten NOT being in Chicago! Haha! Lol. We are expecting Muag, Russell and Smith though aren’t we, mostly just waiting on the 4th middle(or 2nd actual libero)?

And Micha Ma’a as well via the US Volleyball Insta! Hmmm!!! Three MBs and three setters??? Maybe but I’m expecting 4 OH, 2 OPP, 4 MB, 3 S, and 1 L. Probably true. Ma’a being included makes me think the second setter race will be very, very interesting for the next year. Looking forward to seeing how that plays out along with the third MB.

Releasing the roster already would have solved all the guessing games. But too much to ask 2 days out, I guess.

I’m not sure if the USA volleyball Instagram story is indicative of final roster status, but looks like it may be hints. Could just be reading too much from it tho, but I think we can trust this insta puzzle lol

Muagututia in, DeFalco out for this one.
Hugeman jumps straight into the big roster.
Again, Speraw needs to make a decision about stepson Ma’a. You can’t bring 3 setters every time.

My guess is it will just rotate around based on who won’t play that match. Similar to what the USA women did during a couple VNL weeks.

As I said yesterday, the competition for that second setter spot for 2020 is going to be interesting. Speraw definitely is giving Ma’a a shot. Good for Huhmann! Don’t know if he’ll have a shot for next year with essentially there being one spot available at MB and two pros ahead of him, but one to watch for 2024!

In the couple points I saw today in their practice session, it was: Russell, Sander, Christenson, Anderson, Smith, Holt and E. Shoji vs Muagututia, Jaeschke, Ma’a, Patch, Jendryk, Huhmann, and K. Shoji(as Lib)

Shoji(as Lib) bringing that roster lets you have some fully staffed 6v6 scrims. That would be fun to watch, was it an open practice?

However, it would be fun to watch, especially if they were to mix it up. Maybe throw Anderson, Russell, and Holt with Ma’a, and Jendryk, Patch, and Muagututia with Christenson. And to be clear, every event that has 14 player rosters gives you the ability to have a scrimmage, especially if you bring 4 MB’s. I wonder how K. Shoji was passing wise, not that I expect him to be a receiver this week or ever lol.
