DeFalco is gonna make 14-player rosters in every major tournament. Whoās gonna challenge him? Langlois? Muagututia? None of the college guys is even close to him at this point. Wieczorek included.
So , T Sander, A Russell, Jaeschke, DeFalco there u have it

The weakest link is opposite. Patch is still serving floaters for gods sake. Thatās really helpful even as a sub OPP.
Iām not Pete Hanson, but I need Jake Hanes in there

Would like to see these 14 for the finals: S: Christensen, Ma'a (or Tuaniga, they're interchangeable for me) OPP: Anderson, Ensing OH: Russell, Sander, Jaeschke, DeFalco MB: Holt, Jendryk, Averill, Mcdonnell* L: Shoji, Watten*
*with Watten/Mcdonnell eventually being left off the 12-man Tokyo roster. (Sidenote: I wish that all events had a 14 player roster)

So, Iāll still say Shoji until I see Maāa/Tuaniga play in the next few weeks. Looking at the roster, itās still quite a young team. Even with not a lot of turnover from 2016. As others have mentioned, there really is no room for anyone else to jump into that OH spot for even the next quad.

I'm ok with Patch serving floaters as long as it goes in play. I think Speraw is way too liberal with allowing players to be aggressive/miss serves. They just miss way too many when he's at the helm from USA to UCLA, if you can't get the ball in play you have a 0% chance of winning the point. If Patch can keep his floaters in that's an upgrade considering his past. As far as Hanes is concerned, I just don't see it. I see a tall guy but lacks athleticism and smoothness in his movements to be elite.

The discussion is about Opp. pretty sure Huhmann was being looked at as a middle, where I feel he would best succeed. Hanes is a little crazy competitive with a gun. I love that potential. Many Many a guy who went to the next level is a little fierce when push comes to shove.

Go with Ensing as the backup Opp. Heās not flashy but he gets the job done.
1. Anderson 2. Ensing 3. Patch

The reason I brought up Jake Hanes is because last year he was invited to train with A team members in Hawaii and play scrimmages before world championships, back then I didnāt even know him. He was Speraws pick. This season I watched some of his games, super powerful, a lot of errors, he hit a lot of out of system balls, since heās the basically the only efficient pin hitters Ohio State had. Serving easily goes upwards of 70miles
I guess the issue might be he is still a junior 2019-2020 and simply wonāt be available for Tokyo. With all the time invested in Patch the past two years, I see no other options

I like Patch donāt get me wrong, but the value Ensing brings in all phases of the game is just so good, and he is very consistent.
