Maryland beat Howard in 5 tonight 25-23, 24-26, 25-16, 21-25, 15-9 Good win for Maryland’s NCAA hopes! Howard has represented the MEAC in the NCAAs the past 4 years Hmmm I’m actually surprised it went to 5. Seems like a better outcome for Howard then. I believe they have a pretty young squad.

Maryland goes 5 with Pablo #241, and it is a good win? They are only +11 points against a team that is 200 spots lower in Pablo? the only reason Howard gets into the NCAA is that they are the best team in the worst conference.

Yeah, my first impression from that match was more like, “Wow, Maryland is even worse than I thought.”

Also, Rollins continues to get zero respect. Because no one cares about all-around players. Not to pile on the with Sun negativity because I like Lexi, but ... Rollins 277 kills .250 2.68 dps Sun 327 kills .195 2.69 dps Probably not a good comparison: since Lexi played 'somewhat tentatively' trying not to re-aggravate her back injury all season long.

She is t off to too hot of a start this year either Lexi Sun is the 'Top Scorer' for the Huskers after the first 2 matches. I think it's because she's the only one who's played front row every set. Davis and kubik are hitting at a higher percentage. Lexi does lead all hitters in errors tho

She is t off to too hot of a start this year either Lexi Sun is the 'Top Scorer' for the Huskers after the first 2 matches. She’s also averaging 15 kill attempts MORE per match than the next highest of Jazz and Capri. I hope she’s the kills leader. She’s hitting .213. Way too error proned thus far.

Probably not a good comparison: since Lexi played 'somewhat tentatively' trying not to re-aggravate her back injury all season long. She is t off to too hot of a start this year either It's true she had a bad first match at .170 on by far the most attempts, but it isn't like the outsides tore up the court in that match. Nebraska only hit .208 that match overall. Against UCLA, Lexi hit .357 while again shouldering the largest load. Perhaps not the hottest start, but hardly a disaster. Contrast that with Rollins current start of .142 while taking less attempts combined than Lexi did in the Creighton match alone. And while we're on the subject of hot starts because people seem to jump all over this, I would remind people that Mikaela Foecke hit .085 against Florida last year and .317 for the season. Edit: All of this according to the official box scores currently up at the NCAA site, which are subject to corrections from time to time.

I'm not comparing to Rollins I'm just saying I don't see a much different Lexi than 2018. Ucla is not the same ucla they were 3 years ago

Hitting is way, way too volatile to judge in such a small sample.

Ucla is not the same ucla they were 3 years ago Lexi has basically been the same player since she started as a freshman. there was just so much hype on her from her prep career that we all expected to see that she would dominate and now that shes a junior, she should be (even with taking time off rehabbing her injury) she shouldn't be making as many errors as she does. but she looked good in the UCLA game and hopefully as the season progresses we'll see more from her, especially as she'll shoulder most of the sets being OH1 and taking on a bigger role on the team. Jazz really stepped up her game and reduced her errors from the game I watched, go SWEET!!
