Goetzinger‘s stats was awful this past season.
Hitting .295 with 0.7 b/s… yikes

I’m thinking we are not going to pick up a MB transfer. The two top(ish) in the portal are Blackwell and Goetzinger and the cos he’s follow neither of them. I do wonder if we get a DS from the portal or not. If not, I wonder if Wenaas or Rutherford are the other to go 6 rotations besides Skinner. Or if Emerick is ready to go in her first year. I thought our top two biggest portal needs for this year were an experienced 1 year grad MB rental and maybe a DS rental. We got neither 😂 I trust JE and co but it’s been a roller coaster averi carlson is going to DS it up |

I do feel comfortable with the fact that Wenaas and RR can both play back row. I don’t anticipate either happening considering what JE has said about needing 3 back row specialists, but it is an option. I would prefer Wenaas be that player since we have seen her have solid passing numbers earlier in her career, but RR has the better back row attack.

I thought our top two biggest portal needs for this year were an experienced 1 year grad MB rental and maybe a DS rental. We got neither 😂 I trust JE and co but it’s been a roller coaster averi carlson is going to DS it up unless she magically learns to pass during the offseason, I doubt it makes more sense for Ella and Averi to be battling for the starting spot and they'll probably redshirt Binney for year one |

I think the addition of Rutherford being able to hit out of system, we might see Wenaas stay due to her passing experience. Although I wouldn’t hate seeing skinner as L1 and Rutherford being our back row hitter in the two-hitter rotations.

I would prefer Wenaas be that player since we have seen her have solid passing numbers earlier in her career, but RR has the better back row attack. tbh I’m not even convinced she has the better backrow attack… Wenaas took out some TRASH in spring from the pipe and was scoring decently. I filtered on VM to RR’s D balls and she hits like under .100 on them (granted small sample size) |

That’s where it felt like we always got stuck. And this year we won’t have Asjia. Then in the tourney they just decided to set her a ton in those rotations and it bailed us out! And opened up Wenaas more. |
