Ames seems a little out of shape and heavy footed. Not as quick as she’s going to need to be and like Devin at 6’5”, she’s got to elevate much better than she does currently. Plenty of room to get better though and she can work hard and overcome some of these issues. Not worried as I know there is a good work ethic inside the team.

She's enrolling in a couple of weeks. I don't know what my expectations were previously, but they've been lowered. For true freshmen, especially true freshmen middle blockers, that's a good thing. There's a reason Texas redshirts almost every middle blocker that enters the program. |

She's enrolling in a couple of weeks. I don't know what my expectations were previously, but they've been lowered. For true freshmen, especially true freshmen middle blockers, that's a good thing. There's a reason Texas redshirts almost every middle blocker that enters the program. but with only 3 middles on our roster for 2024 (as of now) I don’t see anyone redshirting. Either she’s gotta get it together or we need to hit the portal |

And still consider redshirting Ames if he's comfortable with Singletary and Bunton starting this season. Even if he were to start the season with a goal of redshirting Ames, he can also pull the redshirt off her at any point if needed. It's not like it's a binding decision when you start the season. Also with the number of front row players currently on the roster, I could see one or two others cross-training in the middle. |

I would not be worried about Ames started out slow in UA but looked really good in sets 4 and 5, is also coming early in the spring to get an extra semester of training also, if you wanna see her in action at a higher level: U19 USA-SerbiaU19 USA-JapanU19 USA-Poland
