So this makes most likely to get upset in the 1st two rounds: 1) Washington 2) Minnesota 3) Wisconsin 4) Nebraska 5) Baylor 6) Pittsburgh 7) Stanford 8) Texas ............as long as Texas is listed

How good is Washington at serving and serve receive? The worst match up for CSU is a strong serving team. CSU also has very strong servers but serve receive can struggle. They have a huge block and a top 5 setter who plays the net very well. Going by aces/set, Washington was easily the strongest serving team in the PAC-12. Their serve receive has been pretty suspect recently though. If they steady their passing, they can defintely make it to the FF.

How many times did that happen this season? Stanford was down 2-0 and USC lost in 5 That was without Botkin, too, though Stanford was without Plummer and more banged up than usual that weekend.
IMO it's hard to say how well USC will play bc they've been so banged up during the regular season. IIRC their last game (vs UCLA) was the only one where everyone was back. It seems like everyone's (relatively) healthy now, so they should play well. But, we haven't seen a healthy USC before so it's a guess.

The coaches poll has CSU #10. VT has them at #12.
Why is the hosting #8 seed getting saddled with a top 10 or top 12 opponent in round 2?
Oh, I remember, RPI.

I see USC upsetting Baylor in the 2nd round. USC finally plays good volleyball and goes all the way to the Elite 8.. It could happen...

Could an "on" USC beat Baylor in the second round? Zero chance

Could an "on" USC beat Baylor in the second round? Zero chance We actually won both ends of the home and home with Washington. Wisconsin couldn't do that!

Tis scenario better happen this year because another Khalia Lanier is not showing up at USC along with very good players when healthy Baptista and Gross next season. USC is not going to reload next season.

Would Baylor be the first ever #1 seed to fall in the 2nd rd?

Wisconsin and Minnesota are my co favorites to fall early As a Wisconsin fan I am most nervous about an "on" UCLA team more than anything. If Mac May gets going that could mean trouble.

I think a few of those that vote commented that they put CSU in early on the basis of an early season win (or two). Those wins did not end up being as strong as initially thought, but CSU kept winning. So it was hard to drop them. RPI has them near 20 despite not playing a single match against a Top 25 team. In fact their highest win is a mid 30s Oklahoma team from August. Not very battle tested as they have not played a Top 50 match since 3rd week of September.
