I get the leadership thing BUT in 2017 we were a 'slip' away from Natty number 8. Washington, Lee, and Frantti had all the tools to win again as seniors the cards just didnt fall in their favor.

I do not think anyone on this team will provide the leadership that Brown, Wilson, and Dericco provided. Unfortunately... agreed. I think PSU just isn't bringing in the kind of talent or leadership we did before and during that great 6-in-8 run. Pretty good team now, but just not on the level needed to win a title. If Iman Ndiaye had not decommitted I thought Penn St was going to be very dangerous, and if she had the impact expected Penn St would be challenging for a title in 2020 and 2021. That decommit took a lot of the wind out of the sail!! I think that was unfortunate luck.

Saw on the transfer thread that Cathey is in the portal. Can’t say I’m too surprised. She was very sub-par tbh, and I think the team will be better off without her as a starter.

I mean, the bar wasn’t set very high last year. It was her and Gorrell on the left, and none of the other outside hitters were outplaying her.

Yah, unfortunately they don’t have much depth at the position, but she definitely wasn’t anything special, which I think everyone can agree on and I’m sure she’ll excel elsewhere at another school where she has potential to be more of a main stay, and not outright overshadowed.

I would really like it if we didn't drag her and just wished her well. Yes, she was no Megan Hodge, but she was PSU's most complete outside hitter last year and did some nice things for them.

I disagree she hurt them way more then she helped them

I would have preferred more Lauren Clark. I think ACF will be given every chance to be one of starters this year. She had no competition last year. Psu was light. I think only reason. She leaves is if she feels she doesn’t beat out current competition. And that’s lack of confidence in self. She was a starter last year by default. But she was horrific
