Who would Carlson be replacing? I don't see how this would make sense.
Gophers have room for a super senior in 2021 and non-scholarship DSs and setters. Nothing else, right?

They actually seem pretty thin on outside hitters with the Rollins transfer. I’m more apt to classify Gray as a DS and Glenn as an OPP backup who *can* play on the left. This is assuming Miyabe doesn’t return.

Glenn is also left-handed btw.
It'd be nice to see Miyabe get a shot.

The AD said he is willing to fund an extra scholarship or two for next year, so any 'Super Seniors' who return wouldn't count against us. I feel like we have room for more scholarship players.

I would just like to point out that this must have been an incredibly stressful year for the team (all teams).

When does AVCA announce POY?? I can’t imagine anyone who deserves it more than Samedy!!

It is a sign of how good Samedy was that she was the lone Minn representative on the three AA teams, even though Minn was seeded third. Kentucky had 5, Wisconsin 4, and Texas 3. The sweet 16 loss no doubt didn't help matters, but I don't know that either of the two HMs, Regan and Taylor, had the numbers to break into the third team, even if the Gophers had advanced.

Rotational analysis of Pittsburgh match, fwiw. Real points.
Kilkelly 10-8 Samedy 7-4 Rollins 5-5 but all 5 service points were in g1. Just not a good scoring rotation, but not giving up much either. Pittman 4-7. 0-3 in g1. This one still surprised me. I thought she was scoring a lot of points. Shaffmaster 6-12. More on this below. Landfair 8-5.
G5 isolated was:
Kilkelly 1-1 Samedy 2-0 Rollins 0-1 Pittman 0-1 Shaffmaster 0-3 Landfair 0-0
So a 3-6 loss. Scores were 13-9, 7-9, 12-7, 5-10, 3-6.
So Ro1 did them in. That's Landfair, Rubright, Samedy in the front row. Kinda surprised they cannot side out in that Ro. It's not like Shaffmaster has a weak serve either. Ro2 also weak, with Shaffmaster, Landfair and Rubright.
Ro3 was no great shakes either, after g1. That's Landfair, Pittman and Shaffmaster. Rollins was not serving tough after g1, as I recall.
g4 was a really bad set and g2 a really bad start.
One last stat: 15-24 with Landfair hitting OH, 25-17 with Rollins.

I don't get what the first and second numbers indicate. If Killkelly was 10-8, it means they scored 10 times on her serve and had 8 what??

They actually seem pretty thin on outside hitters with the Rollins transfer. You mean, after the #1 and #3 recruits in the nation, that will both be starting in fall 2021?
Last I checked, you can only play two OH at the same time ...

He explicitly denied the softball team the exact same thing. Such a coward

Well he also cut 3 sports for financials and title IX reasons while allowing football to have extra roster spots as well as all the extra scholarships. I don’t understand how can Mark Coyle be an AD in 2021
