Michigan 25-22 over Indiana in 1st Despite Michigan’s 6 service errors and multiple communication mishaps. Thanks to Paige Jones doing Paige Jones things. 13 kills, an ace, and a block less than half way into the second set. |

Paige played great. Michigan couldn’t pick up a roll/tip to save their lives. The serve and serve receive was tragic. Squeaked it out but it wasn’t pretty, outside of Paige Jones lighting it up!

Okay - so here are my thoughts on tonight's messy W:
- I'm still uncertain about Jones' final stat line. Live Stats shows 35K; UM social media posts say 36 and the box score says 37. Whatever it was, what a monster night.
- A pretty predictable sloppy performance otherwise coming out of yet another COVID break. Honestly just happy to see the team play again.
- Mruzik, Johnson, Murray and Sadilek all out due to COVID protocols but still on the sidelines? I'm so confused.
- 57 SE's in the last three matches! This is no longer a one off.
- Outblocked 16.5 to 5; this troubling trend is now several seasons old.
- Michigan wearing masks but Indaiana not?
- Looked like they would sweep in 3 then looked like they were going to collapse in 5. But it was Indiana who folded in the end as Blue finished on a 8-0 run
Hoping for a little more consistency tomorrow. Go Blue!

She becomes just the 5th Wolverine ever to record 30+ kills, the first since Katie Brudzinski in 2007 and obliterated Sarah Behnke's 22 year old mark of 34. Wow!

I'm surprised we haven't seen anything yet from the Michigan PR team (they might be going back and hand counting the numbers), but Paige Jones just set Michigan's single match kill record at 37 with her performance last night. She becomes just the 5th Wolverine ever to record 30+ kills, the first since Katie Brudzinski in 2007 and obliterated Sarah Behnke's 22 year old mark of 34. Wow! And the first over 30 kills in the 25 point set era. |
