Btw...that was some of the best play by Turkey I have seen TO. DATE. Solid performances all around from Baladin, Gunes, Akoz and of course, Boz...who played the match of her career. However I fear they will really have to dig deep vs. Germany in the final especially after taking almost 3 hours to beat Poland. Either way....when I watch tomorrow's final....I will just be elated for either of these teams to win.
Who is playing better out of Thailand and South Korea? Who looks like the favorite?
Who will reign supreme in NORCECA? Dominicana or Puerto Rico?!

I gotta root for Turkey. Otherwise I'm a fraud. I'm going to gamble on Thailand too. I would just love their golden generation to experience an olympics. I mean they over performed at the WCH in 2018 before their players got injured. And I'm all about me some Dominicana. They had better bring home that ticket tomorrow or ELSE! lol...but in 5 sets of course.

Also I'm calling it now....Russia will NOT make the next Olympic cycle. This quad has seen the rapid development of Turkey, Germany, Belgium and Poland....all with youth to spare and some veterans who still have some gas left in the tank. The Netherlands is a mess....Serbia is aging out too....Italy is going to be stellar for a while. We will see some big shake ups in European and maybe even World Volleyball with more mid-tier teams getting better and more developed. It's already happening. I'm so excited for where the sport is headed!

^^ This will also be brought on by the new World Ranking System change......now teams won't get hugely penalized for not qualifying for major tournaments.

I still kinda can't forgive Korea for choking vs. Russia in the IOQT. I'm still bitter....just a smidgen....

Man, I hate getting up early and fighting bed gravity, but for volleyball I am willing to do so. Right now, South Korea vs Thailand final. I'm kind of divided on who to root for in this match, since I kinda like both teams. I always felt a little bad for Thailand during the Rio qualification, whether they got "shafted" by FIVB or not, the way they lost that match to Japan back in 2016 was disappointing, so I do hope Thailand can right that injustice, if the ref at that match was indeed supicious. But I also like South Korea. This may be Kim Yeong-koung's final appearance at the Olympics. She was on the team when South Korea lost to Japan during the bronze medal match at London 2012. South Korea does deserve another shot at a medal with KYK.
So who should I root for? Live match:

Is it just me or is Thailand's serving and reception a bit off? And now Korea seem to be losing concentration in the 3rd set now.

I still kinda can't forgive Korea for choking vs. Russia in the IOQT. I'm still bitter....just a smidgen.... OMG I still remember that. They were just a few points from winning, and they were also ahead but managed to lose the entire thing. Just imagine Korea having already secured their bid then, Thailand would've won today and Russia, well that adds to the European bloodbath.
