JWO vs Courtney, who will get the spot, that is...interesting. Neither, Hentz will win the spot!! Are you new to how USAV chooses its roster?

Passing: Courtney > JWO Covering tips: JWO > Courtney Right-back defense: JWO > Courtney Setting: JWO >>> Courtney Libero instinct: JWO > Courtney
I'd take JWO. Compromised passing against the non-big 3 contenders but that's basically nullified against SRB, ITA, CHN. If JWO keeps shanking balls against those 3, adjust to a 2-man with both OHs/assign a DS for passing with the OHs. KRob, Hill, Larson could be any of the three roles said.
It's a worthy gamble at this point to go with JWO. A miracle/surprise from any of the considered athletes (JWO, Courtney, Lake and to an extent, Hentz) is very much welcome.

Russia Roster: S: Startseva, Romanova OH: Kosheleva, Parubets, Voronkova, ? OPP: Goncharova, ? MB: Fetisova, Koroleva, Efimova L: Galkina 4th OH and back-up Opp are still anyone's guess. I always wonder, none of them have...ehhh...shall we say, taken pills and medication that they shouldn't have, right? If some of these Russian plays mysteriously drop out without a clear explanation and knowing the record of the Russian Olympic team, well, that would raise questions.

Everyone clamoring for Hentz are the same types who were convinced (Me Included) a year ago that Plummer should be in the mix at opposite, and expected her to rise to the top at that position. I have learned my lesson. I like Hentz, she is the best libero I have ever seen in the college game. Incredible instincts. I would be shocked if she's in Tokyo. In part because I would have to actually see/hear of her being in the USA gym before I believe it.

What happens if someone is found doping on one of the team, errrr, say Russia for example, would the whole team be banned, would the accused be left off the roster, can that spot be replaced by another? What are the procedures for this?

Is Amanda Benson still an option at libero? I don't know how she is doing professionally, but she is still playing professionally, correct?
What liberos from the US are playing professionally right now? Arguing over JWO or Courtney being our best option says a lot in itself IMO.

She's an option but she's not an option if you catch my drift... She's playing in Switzerland I think? JWO and Benson are the only two I know of. Robinson is our best option... but Karch won't put her there because Krob doesn't want to/plus she's playing very well on the outside.

Courtney. At least she can pass. Sometimes Courtney is best passer in gym. Well Robo is, but she's not getting moved to Lib. Karch has shown to value passing over defense so courtney will be the Lib

I'll agree that a healthy Gabi, Natalia and Tandara are Brazil's best pin trio for sure. Add Brait, Fabiana, Adenizia and Macris and they will be able to compete for a medal. Keeping players healthy is the key. They have had a pretty rough quad.

Also....is Frolova still rocking that mullet?

Interesting that the article mentions that the players went through "in-depth" medical testing. Russian Volleyball making sure everyone is clean. Good. I really want to believe that all of them are abiding by the rules but I just don't trust Russia at all at this point. No offense to the athletes.....but I just want everyone to play fair.

Yeah, the thing is, you just don't know how much you can trust their claims.
