It's the trade-off of SOS impact plus chance to win. You can get bonus points for beating the Horizon League teams, so . . . . LSU could be better and is definitely beatable. No!!

LSU could be better and is definitely beatable. No!! Tulane beat LSU -11, -11 in sets 3 & 4 IN Baton Rouge. At least for your sake, I certainly HOPE LSU is better

It's the trade-off of SOS impact plus chance to win. You can get bonus points for beating the Horizon League teams, so . . . . That's the goal of every coach to game the RPI system. Scheduling the toughest RPI-Wise while still balancing how many games you actually need to win. (And predicting how good your opponents can be the following year is certainly an art too) I never said scheduling Indiana was a good choice. There are much better options is different than saying it's a *bad* choice especially as an upper-mid AAC team. There are much worse options at the same time. And since we're talking about the specific scheduling of Tulane that brought up these examples, they scheduled and beat a similar Big Ten team (Ohio State) last year. Was that a good choice? Not necessarily, but how can I call it a bad choice when Ohio State beat Wisconsin and wasn't that far away from finishing T50 either? Tulane 2020 schedule has a couple of really really good RPI teams that are definitely beatable (Stephen F. Austin and Texas State). LSU (who Tulane also beat last year) wasn't necessarily beneficial, but I don't see them as a bad team to schedule this year. LSU could be better and is definitely beatable. Would Tulane be better off scheduling Kentucky or Florida? No way. They'd probably be best off scheduling Georgia and South Carolina? But of course scheduling is completely complicated and you can't just handpick teams that are best for you. I think it's key that Indiana is coming to Tulane's tournament - they scheduled them. Ohio St. was probably scheduled by WKU. I'd also argue that Ohio St. (and Tulane probably doesn't have too much say there - just happy to be invited). 2019 was expected to be a better team than Indiana 2020.

COLORADO hasn't released its full schedule yet (along with the rest of the PAC), but they have released 3 weeks of non conference match-ups. They are limiting travel and staying within 40 miles over 3 weeks. These might be the only non-conference matches they have, but likely still have one travel weekend before PAC conference begins.
- ILLINOIS and IOWA home matches (year 3 of this current PAC/B1G challenge) - DENVER Home & Away matches (2019 Summit conference champion and 2019 NCAA Tourney appearance) - COLORADO STATE Home & Away matches (2019 Mtn West conference champion and 2019 NCAA Tourney appearance)

Reposted with the travel schedule: Texas A&M, Texas, Miami, FAU, FGCU. Since he did list those names by schools and did not mention Texas in the schools they will play, I assume they will be playing a tournament at Texas but not actually play them? Hope that means we could see a Texas vs Florida or Texas vs Penn St or both.

It’s a very ambitious schedule.

Todd listed Texas right along with the other schools on the "travel schedule", before Miami and after Texas A&M... Since we know UCF are scheduled to play TAMU on Sept 6 at 1pm, what makes you think they aren't playing Texas too?

At the Texas A&M Invitational, UCF will be playing Ohio State on Friday, September 4, and A&M on Sunday, September 6. Doesn't look like they'll be playing Houston, the other team in the Invitational.
Perhaps They'll make a trip to Austin to play Texas on Wednesday, September 2, or Saturday, September 5.

Texas no longer appears to be playing at Northern Iowa this season:
