On a side note. Check out Cuttino during this friendly match Minas vs. Bauru. Her footwork and arm swing are different That's some MB-esque footwork (cough where she should be)

I noticed also that her approach in the opposite looks like an approach for a double quick play behind the setter.

The Chinese league bosses may think this will help the NT. But I don't see how that helps the Chinese NT for Tokyo. The Japanese League is taking the opposite approach, incorporating foreign players to boost the competitiveness of their NT. And without foreign players to play against, its hard to gauge just how well you measure against foreign opponents. Playing against domestic opponents does not really provide you with the level of competition to improve yourself. The league may think shutting out foreign players will help them keep their NT's strategies and tactics a secret. But any benefit of that will be outweigh by the cost of not being able to compete against better opponents overseas. Not to mention the long-term reputation and credibility of the league. Which foreign player will want to sign with that league now? And the lack of high caliber foreign players will make the overall competitive level of the league stagnate or even be reduced vs other leagues. I've been reading more into this and some news reports suggest that the reason they did not want clubs to introduce foreigners this season was because they planned on using this season as their qualification tournament for the 2021 National Games. With competitions getting pushed back, they suspected that there wouldn't be time to arrange something beforehand. The main idea was that a season without foreign players would allow teams to be able to compete fairly as they would in an original qualification tournament in order to see the rankings and the level of each team domestically. The uproar from the clubs and players will hopefully set their minds right. It doesn't make sense that only volleyball has to pertain to these rules when other sports leagues in China are allowing the use of foreigners. I'm sure Lang Ping will voice her opinions and concerns that this would make the entire level of the league poor which is not ideal heading into the Olympics.

It would not make sense on the face of it, unless they have ulterior motives involved. I hope they see the light and correct their error by permitting foreign players to play as planned. Otherwise the long-term damage this will do the league's reputation will be serious.

Drews posted on her IG story she's getting paperwork and talking to the Japan consulate "to beg her for work visa" so that's somewhat good news

With the problem in the Chinese League going on it would be concerning if the other USA players heading to Japan aren't able to play as well.

Hope she can get her ass to Japan soon. First match is a month away!
Denso vs. JT will be interesting. Plummer vs. Drews.
JT will also have Asian Club Championships but not sure about the date.
