Here’s a question... if we had CIA or other intelligence officers in China, why didn’t they tell us what was going on a few months ago. And why does Russia have so few cases. Because China and Russia are now saying “Who’s the Man” 1. The current administration got rid of a cdc pandemic response team that was embedded in and partnered with china's cdc equivalent. 2. Even without that, even the public knew it was happening in early-mid December, the government just didn't react until way later.

This was in July, he discontinued a post that had been in place for over a decade. The travel ban on China was good, maybe a little late but a good choice and with broad consensus in favor of it. Biden's mislabeling of it is a bad thing. Just because he made one good choice doesn't get rid of his other bad choices (disassembling pandemic response teams, FDA opposing privately developed tests, not using DPA) that also have had an impact on the nation. For the record, the people actively not being part of the solution, i.e. not supporting social distancing and trying to open the country back up, are largely on the right according to polling.

You didn't read my shares. The decision to streamline the team was made but many were hired back as part of the new team. Its extremely easy to second guess all these decisions but the bottom line is it just doesn't help the situation at all. Imagine having the pressure to save your citizens yet how to save the shreds of whats left of our economy so we have jobs left to go to when this is over? I have an entire new respect for Gov Cuomo( spelling) and frankly the governor of California. They have managed to put most of the politics aside and work together through this nightmare. Imagine if we all did that?

That is also ALL he did. He seemed to think -- and publicly stated -- that this travel ban amounted to containing the virus. I am no longer surprised that his supporters will never be convinced of his narcissism and incompetence.
It's not pettiness to wish we had someone in charge that cared about something more than himself.

Typical liberal, the government should bail me out of every single thing in the world, it is not my fault I didn’t prepare for this, it’s all the federal government’s fault. Now let’s cry our eyes out instead of being constructive.Yep, always the poor victim. Cuomo turned down the opportunity to get ventilators and spent the money on other more important things but of course that’s not his fault. That is Trumps fault.

Trump's own words, to Leslie Stahl, about why he attacks the press: “You know why I do it? I do it to discredit you all and demean you all so that when you write negative stories about me no one will believe you.”
His own words. But there are still people who believe what he says. People who still fall for it every single time.

Looks to me like the headline is the problem, not the article. As is often the case ...

This is what they do. This is before and after Jared's comments, on the website for the Strategic National Stockpile: The most corrupt administration in the history of the country, in every sense of the word.

“We need ventilators, we need testing kits, the population needs financial relief”.
Congress, “Ok, but not without the Kennedy Center getting $25 million and other Art projects getting $75 million.”
I thinking Mark Cuban might make a good President. If Jack Bauer isn’t available.

This is what they do. This is before and after Jared's comments, on the website for the Strategic National Stockpile: The most corrupt administration in the history of the country, in every sense of the word. This change in view of the stockpile is also because it's chronically underfunded. Not denying that the way it's been used is suboptimal and that kushner's comments are bad, but there is another answer as to why the SNS has had less of an impact than it should. Neither Obama nor Trump restocked after the H1N1 epidemic in '09, even though the stockpile was under a third of how big it was before, and way smaller than general projections showed were needed in a pandemic. 40 million n95s, many expired. It used to be over 100 million, and projections show that multiple billions are necessary in a pandemic. The administration is trying to save face by putting the burden on the states now because they didn't put the burden on themselves to keep the stockpile up to date.
