Washington will have to be careful and play well because Bonifacio is a solid and faster middle. If anything Chirichella and Washington are more similar and could be fighting it out for that spot. I can see Lavarini shuffling back and forth between the three of them. Arrighetti should transfer or retire because if she stays on the team she will likely never see any playing time. There's a pretty big difference between Chirichella & Washington, and a smaller difference between Washington & Bonifacio. Arrighetti can still do what Bonifacio does - I'm not sure I wouldn't rather have Arrighetti. Chirichella & Washington is an interesting combination as both played the M1 last season. In that combo Washington would almost have to play the M1 because she's not a very good M2. It seems like you are wasting some of Chirichella's talent putting her in the M2... I don't think I'm a big fan of this group of middles. The best combo is probably Chirichella at M1 and Arrighetti at M2. Any way you slice it, it's a big drop from Veljkovic to any of these new transfers. Either way you slice it....Washington would have to fight like hell to consistently start which wasn't the case last year at Busto. She improved A TON if you ask me.

Looks like Ali Frantti, who had very good season in Poland, is heading to Chieri.

So, both conegliano and eczacibasi are targeting hill-bartsch combo?
I heard kyk-natalia are both leaving eczacibasi, even lloyd and gibb.
Why hill can't decide if she'll stay for another yr with conegliano?. If she is looking for shorter league. She should go with larson in china or japan. Larson will surely be bavk in China. I hope akinradewo and adams also play in china or japan.

I mean she can fight all she wants and she isn't beating Chirichella out of anything. So she has to battle Bonifacio and maybe Arrighetti at things that aren't her strengths - blocking & hitting off 2 feet. Within the context of Serie A1 Washington does one thing pretty well - hit off of 1 foot. She was in a position to do that a lot this year in Busto Arsizio, but as good as she is off 1 foot - Chirichella is better. Bonifacio is a better blocker than Washington and Arrighetti has been a better blocker than both of them - she just had 2 freaks playing in front of her this year. It doesn't strike me that this would be a good situation for Washington.

Just want to say thank you for this thread. I maintain a good interest in this league, but really appreciate getting highlights without having to dig much myself - this keeps me more interested as I’m admittedly too lazy to do so.

I mean, Chieri is like another Busto, a younger version, who has a limited budget but is so wise at buying suitable players. I hope they have a great next season.

I believe she signed a two-year deal with Firenze She did, but all foreign players were released from their contracts when they went home. Whether or not she will stay with Firenze is not certain.

Yes, I was asking because of this. Sorry I didn't put some background into it. I do wonder where she is headed.

So this applies to even those with multiple year contracts? I wasn't sure if that just meant those signed for a single year. Like Ogbogu, Washington, etc.

Yes, in general, all foreign players who left before the end of the season (before the League canceled) terminated their contracts. However, depending on the team, and the agents, players could negotiate, and sign a new contract. Players were offered 70% of their contract if they wanted to be released early.
