Let's talk about starting line-ups!
Conegliano: Wolosz, Sylla, Hill, Folie, DeKruijf, Egonu and DeGennaro.
Easiest to predict and probably still the best in the world right now.
The real question is is their bench better this season than last season? 6/7 of their bench players are new faces this season.

Novara: Hancock, C. Bosetti, Herbots, Chirichella, Washington, Smarzek-Godek and Sansonna.
This line-up could see Daalderop in for C. Bosetti and Bonifacio in for Washington in order to maintain foreigner limits. I am VERY excited to see what this team can do!

Scandicci: Malinov, Pietrini, Courtney, M. Popović, Lubian, Stysiak and Merlo.
I am still not sure if this team upgraded or not from last season. On paper last year they should have been quite the threat and were arguably the second best in the league but really struggled all season long. I am not sure if the pair of Marković and Courtney are upgrades from Bricio and Milenković. I definitely don't think Drewniok is better than even a struggling Sloetjes. The team also traded Stevanović for M. Popović and Kakolewska for Samadan. Time will tell if the trade off will be worth it. I still think this team is in the top 6 of the league though.

Monza: Orro, Meijners, Orthmann, Danesi, Heyrman, Van Hecke and Parrocchiale.
First off. Plummer SHOULD HAVE STAYED WITH THIS TEAM! UGH....She would have been the starting Opposite even WITH Van Hecke on the roster. That being said I am not sure Van Hecke is that big of an upgrade from Ortolani.
I do think Orro is a massive upgrade at setting compared to I. Di Iulio and Skorupa from last season. Other than that I just don't see this team having enough depth to have any impact if this current line-up doesn't perform. Still...there is a ton of potential here and I think they will land somewhere in the top 6 teams.

Firenze: Cambi, Van Gestel, Guerra, Alberti, Beliën, Enweonwu and Venturi. Hashimoto and Nwakalor should see plenty of court time but for the purposes of putting the best players up first the ones I chose should be good. It was so annoying to watch this team struggle last year with Dijkema setting. I think Enweonwu can offer more offense than Nwakalor and I love Yvon Beliën's energy and speed. She and Alberti should make a fine MB duo. Super bummed Foecke decided not to return this season. She would have had a break-through season.

I’d take my talents somewhere else to. That’s called being smart. I think she would have led this team to a possible title. I liked the idea of her leading this team in some amazing upsets is all. I do think she will grow a ton in Japan and she will be free to join the USA league and the NT earlier too. I think both paths have benefits and pitfalls.

Chieri: Mayer, Perinelli, Frantti, Alhassan, Zambelli, Grobelna and De Bertoli.
I love me some Victoria Mayer. I think she will eventually be the starting setter for this team. I also look forward to watching all this buzz around Ali Frantti. She made quite the splash for herself in Poland last year.
I think this team will have accomplished a lot if it can make the playoffs. I'm excited to watch them!

Perugia: Di Iulio, Havelkova, Angeloni, Aelbrecht, Koolhaas, Ortolani and Cocchetto.
I'll admit that I didn't really watch this team last year. However now this team has made significant upgrades to the roster and IMO will more than likely make the playoffs this year which is huge for a team that would have been relegated last year. I am excited to see what they bring to the league this year!

Cuneo: Signorile, Degradi, Strantzali, Candi, Zakchaiou, Bici and Zannoni.
This team is full of relatively unknown players to me. I am happy to see Bici finally be a starter. She has spent the last two seasons in the shadow of Egonu and Lowe. I just don't know enough about this roster to have too strong of an opinion here. Anyone have any thoughts that is more familiar with this roster?

Brescia: Bechis, Angelina, Jasper, Berti, Botezat, Nicoletti and Parlangeli.
This line up is made mostly of domestic talent. However if this team is in system, Berti and Botezat are two monster young middles who could take over a match. Jasper is a great passer but I am unfamiliar with Angelina. Nicoletti is a decent Opp option. I love me some Marta Bechis ever since her stint at Conegliano in 2018. She really plays smart. I am glad she landed here after the whole Caserta debacle last season. I don't think this team will make the play offs but should avoid relegation.

@toddyj -- I have done a parallel, converse set of previews for a newbie-European audience over on InsideVolleycountry: introducing our NCAA game to them, whereas you're introducing the international leagues to a mostly American collegiate following. I admire your dedication and thoroughness; I know/ can appreciate how much work is involved in researching such.

I need to become more involved in the NCAA game. Since my Alma Mater doesn't have a great program I don't follow any particular school. Thanks again for the recognition!

It seems to me that budget cuts are manifesting in no 4th middle blocker or back-up libero. Many teams are at 12-13 players.
Also, what is up with Casalmaggiore? Only 6 players signed and not many in negotiations. Anyone have any clue what's going on with the club?

I feel like they'll either shine or tank miserably.
