Olympic level lineup? Weren’t Russia, DR, Kenya, Korea’s lineups the same lineups they were supposedly sending for Tokyo? I think you mean top-tier team. Exactly. Like I pointed out for the libero stats that were discussed earlier, all that should matter is who gives us the best chance to win against the starters for the Top 5 teams in the world. Stats and performance against everybody else are largely irrelevant. I don’t think stats against Japan, Russia, Korea, DR, etc. are largely irrelevant. Those four teams all have very very different styles of play. DR and Russia can block — Japan and Korea can’t. DR and Russia can’t pass — Japan and Korea can! Yes, China/Serbia/Italy mean the most... but I think there is not as huge of a gap to make the statistics useless. If you can pass De La Cruz’ jump serve, or you can dig bombs from Voronkova and Goncharova.... I think that’s relevant.

Nonsense. There will never, ever be a pro league in the U.S. At the mere suggestion, the Chinese and George Soros conspired to unleash the Wuhan virus to derail the project! Nuclear war would surely erupt before it became a reality. (See, we can both do this?) Yes but only one of us is pretending that there is an actual “pro league” in the US.

Haha and the other one of us swore that there would never be one a few days before two TWO pro ventures were announced. Your crystal ball needs an oil change!

To be honest, I don't think we are in the position to dismiss teams outside of the top six. I mean, we were almost beaten by #15 Thailand in WWCh 2018 and #20 Bulgaria in IOQT...
We do not enjoy the same consistency as China, Brazil, Serbia, and Italy.

The "gap" between the elite teams and the pack is shrinking. While each teams competitive level will rise and drop depending on the combination of players on the court/roster, the eternal balance of youth entering a program and veterans exiting is probably one of the more exciting aspects many of us here discuss on an almost constant basis.
To me this is a sign of the sport growing and I am here for it!

I hope Maloney makes a case for 2024. Because of Coronavirus, I doubt Karch will take the risk and take her (she has no experience overseas). She is SO athletic and I feel will adjust to pro well.

We have no clue what JWO can do, because she has zero experience against good national teams. (Or good pro teams for that matter, seeing as she was a backup in the German league) If defense and digging tips is what matters, Hentz is already above JWO. For the record, I do think those things are important, but serve receive is still more important. Not to the extent that Karch does, but passing is still more important. #freemorganhentz2021 If she can rise up and steal that position I think many on here would be all about it. Now I realize that that is very BIG if. She would be making her NT debut in May and then in just two short months make the Olympic team. That would be almost too insane....even for an Olympic success story right?
