Reportedly the Patriot was ready to shut it down last week but Army and Navy were vocal in opposition. This is a logical solution assuming Army and Navy still find someone to play against. If everybody goes conference only I'm not sure who they play. Notre Dame 🤷🏽♀️

The NJCAA proposal to move all sports to the Spring (January start) has passed. Just a hunch NAIA will follow suit, and NCAA before the end of the week.

Fall is practice and scrimmages only (limited), January everything starts, staggered through out the semester.

Wonder where the refs will choose to work? Schools or club tourneys?

Wonder where the refs will choose to work? Schools or club tourneys? I had that conversation with our conference assignor, the hours and pay is better for a college match, so they aren't worried about getting officials to choose college over club tournament.

I can tell you that I and most of my fellow refs would rather work a 2.5 - 3 hour college match (arriving an hour prior to start time) for $175 than work a 10-hour tournament for $225.

Additional concerns now though. This is assuming basketball is moved to the second semester as well, due to nothing happening in first semester.
Two BBall teams & two VB teams at some schools. That’s not much court time to be split between four programs. (Same can be said for turf/stadium sports as well). Do BB & VB teams have to double up on competition days? I know New England has a good amount of D3 men’s, but is lacking in volume of college officials.

Someone needs to create a scheduling software program for this chaotic environment that athletic departments will be operating in this Spring.

Wonder where the refs will choose to work? Schools or club tourneys? College ball. Much better pay, shorter hours, and a significantly lower chance of being exposed to COVID-19.

Some d3 thoughts and with mvb wondered if all 4 teams play at once or split into two short seasons? If we all go conf only 1x through, that's roughly 9 matches but say we all have a 10 date schedule...would that be enough? Compared to 0 certainly.
If all 4 are at the same time, do bball have same travel schedule and vb share dates? Always double headers and playing on same dates (would put 2 vb refs at 1 site for 2 matches). Then does each team get 2 other days on the court to practice to conserve on cleaning or do all 4 go 60-75/90 minutes each day?
How about if bball plays 6 weeks, 1 or 2 weeks of prep (assuming fall practices) and 5 weeks of 2x a week games and then a playoff week into a 3 week NCAA tournament. Start Jan 4-16 practices, 5 weeks of games from Jan 18-Feb 20th, conf playoffs 22-28 and NCAA's March 1-20.
VBs has been doing some early or Sunday workouts so 1 week to prep of March 1-7 (guess we don't have a spring break for players to leave and bring stuff back). Five weeks of matches are March 8-April 10/11th and playoffs April 12-18 with 2 weeks of NCAAs April 19-May 1/2 and minimal Graduation conflicts.
