You have touched on this topic before. Can you elaborate? Why is Russia not ok with Ukraine or viceaversa? I’ve known this is a thing from watching Champions League draws for soccer. I don’t know if there are travel restrictions or if it’s simply because Russia and Ukraine REALLY hate each other politically, but it’s standard operating procedure in European draws to not permit Ukraine v Russia matchups until late rounds of tournaments. www.cev.eu/Competition-Area/competition.aspx?ID=1262&PID=2010Turns out you are correct. The second match of the Ukrainian derby will determine who faces Scandicci not D. Moscow in the 2nd round. This kinda sucks for Stuttgart. I think they had better chances at beating Scandicci than D. Moscow. We shall see what goes down. My money is on Commercecon Lodz, Scandicci and Moscow to make it through to the league round (4th round). There is no 3rd round needed this year.

As the Champions League preliminary rounds conclude due to all of the forfeits and byes, the CEV cup is shaping up to be very lopsided. Most of the good teams are all stacked in the same brackets. This is mostly due to the luck of the drawing of lots.
I look forward to dissecting the brackets once we know the final round of 32 pairings.

In fairness to Courtney, she's doing well as an OH.

In fairness to Courtney, she's doing well as an OH. It's where she belongs. She and Robinson will help usher in the new heavy hitters next quad.

I think I called this earlier in this thread. I predict Dinamo Moscow, LKS Comm Lodz and Scandicci will make the cut.
In November....IT'S SHOW TIME!

In fairness to Courtney, she's doing well as an OH. She was impressive in all aspects of the game. I thought she received really well in this match. It looks like the team is is jiving a lot better than they did in the opening tournament.

Stuttgart-Dinamo Moscow got moved to November 6, after it was scheduled to be played last week or so but got cancelled cause of Covid. Will take place in Switzerland set by the CEV (as of now) after the two sides could not agree on a neutral site.

LP Salo of Finland has dropped out of CL so both Dinamo Moscow and Allianz MTV Stuttgart will both land in Pool D along with Turkish team Eczacibasi Vitra and fellow Russian team Lokomotiv Kaliningrad. This pool is now the pool of death IMO.
Pool A is also going to interesting. I think all four of Busto Arsizio, Scandicci, Skyres Rzeszow and SSC Palmberg Schwerin could place top of the pool.
Other interesting head to heads will be in Pool B between Conegliano and Fenerbahce and in Pool E between Novara and Dinamo Kazan.
Pool C is going to be cake for Vakifbank. I doubt they even drop a set in pool play.

Aside from it'll shorten the time it'll be more competitive.

In fairness to Courtney, she's doing well as an OH. I always thought the libero position didn't entirely suit her on the NT. I know Karch saw her reception numbers and was sufficiently impressed to make her try the libero position, but I always thought she was better suited as an OH.
