Some of the more Off-the-wall speculation I’ve seen on here....you really need to get the players last name right before laying out her plans for the future;) Boy bye. You maaaddddddd??! Yes you are. Huh?

The PAC will follow, as will the ACC --- SEC is going to force a zero negligence contract, and they'll play -- the 100K weekend fans continuing to spread COVID. Sure selfishness and ignorance. NCAA will file an injunction to waive cause from SEC. Rattke will not go pro in 2021, she promised to play more year, regardless if Tokyo happens or not, if she's on US roster or not, she plans one last shot to bring Sheffield a Natty in '21. She will not play with Wisconsin should a spring "season" happen (highly unlikely), she'll be in Anaheim training with NT and taking online courses. Molly is 50/50 on going the Dana route.... Hilley will stay if Dana stays You just clearly have no knowledge of the plans of Wisconsin players or coaches......

B12 plans to go forward at the current moment (subject to change I'm sure). Which way will the ACC break? ACC will go with the SEC. The word among journalists today is that the Big 12 was the linchpin. If they canceled, so would the SEC and ACC. If they go forward, so will the SEC and ACC. I still think it is just a matter of time before those conferences succumb as well. But, good luck to them. But, that is also just a football discussion. We either are at, or have to be really close to, less than 50% of schools playing volleyball in fall. No sense having the ACC, SEC, Big 12, Sun Belt and BYU having a volleyball season without a tournament when they could have one in spring.

If it's in January then I am sure she would still play and make it in time to train with team USA or possibly join them later if the season ends in time

Well the SEC, Big 12 and ACC are clearly demonstrating that they're willing to hold a regular season in football regardless of what everybody else does. I'm not sure we can assume they'd do something different for Olympic sports.

Her exact words were "It's a %*$# show". No one knows what's going on and there is very little enthusiasm for a conference-only schedule without an NCAA tournament.

This is from the ESPN show Pardon the Interruption today. Mike Wilbon, as well connected in sports as anyone and a member of the Northwestern Board of Trustees, has a message for Nebraska if they want to go play football elsewhere this fall-“Get the Hell Out”. If Nebraska wants to play football in the Big 12 this fall, it should be made clear to them the move would mean their exit from the Big Ten. They might be surprised to know how many people would be just fine with that. Big Ten discussion starts at 55 sec. Nebraska at 2:40.

I don’t think football coaches have much say in what’s going to happen going forward, let alone volleyball coaches. They’re just along for the ride.

On top of that, the spring will have teams accounting for 37 of the 39 NCAA VB titles (Assuming WCC moves to the fall). I would be more than a little annoyed, as a player or a coach, to be forced to play in the fall. I am assuming that if a team plays in the fall, that the NCAA will not allow them to play in the spring. If they DID allow teams to compete in both, then teams playing in the fall would end up with a competitive advantage in training, but risk burnout balancing school with full-time volleyball all year.

I think many Nebraska fans (football fans anyway) would be fine with leaving, and many fans of other Big 10 schools would be fine with Nebraska leaving.
But, I don't think it will happen.

Players do have the option to opt out of the season if they choose to do so and the school must keep them on scholarship and they won't lose that year of eligibility. I think we will see this more and more as time goes by with uncertainty.

I have already heard that some SAs are looking to red shirt, opt out.

I have already heard that some SAs are looking to red shirt, opt out. This is sensible and is/was likely to happen if the season took place in the fall or spring. Either way - this season was going to be way different and many players would be interested in taking a redshirt on an abnormal season. It is also a reason many regular students are likely to take a skip year this year from college - as the college experience this year will not be normal and many will see taking a year off as a good decision.

People are taking "we want to play" to a bizarre extreme. If Nebraska plays any sports this Fall it will be with the blessing of the Big Ten conference. If that blessing doesn't happen, Nebraska is not going to go rogue. People need to use some common sense. The economy of Lincoln is massively dependent on these Fall sports. It makes absolute sense that our administration would leave no stone unturned rather than see that economy - and their own payroll - take such a massive hit. If that search for options is fruitless, at least they tried. But they have to try. What I think is far more likely than Nebraska leaving the conference is the Big Ten providing some kind of waiver for the Huskers to play some regional "exhibition" games. Allegedly North Dakota State has reached out, and (again allegedly) one or both of the Kansas schools have reached out. Before any of that happens, TV rights to the games have to be figured out, logistics have to be hammered out, and that's on top of receiving green lights from the NCAA or the Big Ten.

What good, not selfish reason, does the Big 10 have to stop them?
