I forgot to say, that there are a few current Rainbow Wahine in the picture and in the video clips. I really do hope that Jolie comes back for her last season with Hawaii. Lol hopefully coming back after shaking off the rust like that swing at the end 😂

I'm gonna go on a limb and say, Brooke Van Sickle, Mylana Byrd, Kyra Hanawahine, Jolie Rasmussen, Adora Anae, Kalei Mau I missed a couple of others Norene Iosia & Harlee Kekauoha. I'm just glad that they have a way to play the sport they love.

She was such a significant part of the Na Wahine program. Would love to see her continue being part of the program as one of the coaches. I mean would it really hurt their budget to add one more itty bitty assistant coach whether it’s the indoor or the beach program? *sighs* This is just wishful thinking on my part. I know she’s playing pro overseas. Also nice to see Mylana being part of this group too. And Jolie… ugh… the waiting is dreadful. lol I’m sooo anxious to know whether she’ll return or not. Here’s hoping she will and that if she does, this upcoming season will be the year she finally thrives without going through any hardship and just plays throughout the whole season.

When do UH put their 2021 roster up?

Hawaii don’t need a setter. We have a .Jr setter in Mylana Byrd a freshman in Kate Lang and a 2022 incoming named Jaclyn Matias. Yeah Tuaniga is a big shot setter but I don’t think Robyn is going to pull the offer to Matias. Kate is our future and I think Robyn will happy with her. I wouldn’t be that shocked if the wahine adds a setter though.

It's been nice to see the progression in Devin's game. She is contacting the ball a lot better than she was in 2019 and she has a nice swing on the D-ball. Overall her game looks a lot more polished and she looks a lot more confident in her game. She looks like she has put in the work during the limited covid opportunities. Just like many others it was a waiting game to see how much covid would stunt the progress of prep athletes here in Hawai'i (as well as every else) with the strict restrictions in place. Punahou has couple great players as well that could possibly be good catches for some programs as well. Not sure if Lucky-Rose Williams is on the prep radar but she also hits a nice ball and has a nice game. Kahahawai and Matias are the two best players in the state. Matias defensively is amazing and will be a complete stud defender on the beach. Kahahawai looks much stronger.

That is a crazy amount of setters.

I don’t foresee Byrd staying for two more years. Matias will help out anywhere in the backcourt and if a good setter comes a knocking.

Sounds like she either not happy being here or she misses home. I know she lost a year this past season due to Covid but I though she would take the extra year since she probably will not have a future as a pro. If was me, I would squeeze out every year I have because after that, no more competitive volleyball. If she only plays this year, I hope she gives it her all and have a blast before hanging it up.

Kahahawai wasn't utilized much for passing or defense this year. Wonder how she will be at 6 rotations. Will she shock us on signing day?

That is a crazy amount of setters. I'm guessing that it is probably not a freshman setter that they're bringing in, but it is probably a transfer setter? Possibly a grad transfer or a senior setter since we have Matias coming in after this coming season. Though I do really want to see Lang setting in a 5-1, maybe Robyn wanted to run a 6-2 like they did last season?

I was imagining that Mylana would be mostly at the net and Lang would be the back court. Interesting if they get a transfer setter. Saige is coming home? Still hoping for those OH and Libero transfers

Yeah...I also get the feeling that Saige is coming home. She left Utah and has yet to hook up with another team. The thing with Saige is that she would not have to be subbed out if she is in the front row. We don’t need to go to 6-2 if Saige is in. She was a pretty good blocker at Utah. That would put Lang on the bench and Mylana the 3rd setter.
She will also have a chance to be part of very good beach program at UH so if Saige does come home, UH indoor and beach will pick up a very good player.

A senior transfer would be a reasonable pick up for Hawaii since the scholarship opens up again for 2022.

Saige is a junior. She has 2 remaining years of eligibility.
