Let's hope so! In the Volley livestream she looked really good. Pounded some balls! is there a link to where i can watch it? I was watching the live feed on VolleyHawaii's Instagram. By the way Norene was playing also. Not sure how I could have neglected to mention her in my earlier comment! There are some videos on VolleyHawaii's IG: www.instagram.com/volleyhawaii/

Oh i must have missed mention of talks of bringing in a setter for the upcoming season. If it’s coming from a credible source and there’s a possibility that it’s Torres, I’m all for it. I thought some were writing Byrd off because of Matias coming, when we haven’t seen anything from Mylana as a wahine yet. I do understand at the end of the day Byrd and Lang are mostly unproven setters at the collegiate level so I’m not going to say no to really solid experience. However, I do have a lot of faith in Coach Rob’s style of relentless hard work and i know she will be toughest on that position so i am excited to see what the offense will look like and who will run it Byrd was the starting setter at Alabama her Freshman season playing in all 32 matches that year and she played in 16 matches her Sophomore season so she is not an "unproven setter at the collegiate level". rolltide.com/sports/womens-volleyball/roster/mylana-byrd/5603I guess i mean more in the sense that they set their team to a high ranking, competed for a conference title, made a dent in the post season. Yea all that has more to do with a team than an individual position player. All I’m saying is that I believe Byrd’s best is yet to come and surrounded by quality players on a previously Top 25 ranked team (2020 doesn’t count) there’s a good possibility we see that with her. If not, Kendra Koelsch was one of my favorite players and I can see Byrd being used the same way if she’s a solid blocker.

I forgot the name of Higgins backup setter, that likes to surf? She was tall and did some good for Hawaii Offense and defense. I remember the match against Florida.

I just seen the post before me, I think that's her name. KENDRA KOELSCH, yup, after graduation, she went on to LBSU to play beach. One of the many student/players who were position players that came in and did her job. Dedicated, and a role model for players who would do anything to find the court. Another setter converted position player was Stephanie Brandt, with beautiful hands, good footwork, wicked float serve, and a fierce defender. She also took it upon herself to be the first one off the bench and was clutch come game time. They all contributed both in practice and on the court.

I was speculating a Turkish girl, but 2 opposites in this class? I guess the 5 freshmen speculation in the UH press release I posted was true. She has played as a middle too. Haven’t seen a lot of her all around skills but she has thunderous kills. You can’t teach height either. Now I’m curious who the transfers may be

Demirtas was probably pending ever since the first 3 were announced. Any transfers out would be known by now. I’m thinking transfers in. I feel like I already know who’s gonna be transferring in lol. Now all we need is an experienced Libero

Thanks for posting the vids Kaipono. I can't watch them right now because I'm at work but what do you think? Can she contribute right away? Or is she a project?
