Congrats to the graduates! Does this mean a Rasmussen return for Fall if a degree hasn't been earned yet? Unless she transfers out of UH at this point (which I think is unlikely), I believe that she will be on track to graduate from UH next Spring semester. So there is a high chance that she will be at UH in the Fall. However, we'll see if she decides to play for an additional season as she may decide to focus on school.

Found some late 2020 footage of Ilayda. I didn't realize she could hit the D ball. She lacks consistency and seemed to get weaker as the match went on. So-so on floor defense but has a nasty float serve. Check out the amazing D ball at 56:40. Ilayda is #15 in the dark jersey
The next vid is more relevant and from early 2021 against a very good Vakifbank team. Ilayda shows more 6 rotation play and D ball swings. She has a productive first 2 sets (7 kills, 3 errors) but gets subbed out after. Consistency seems to be something that can be worked on. Ilayda is #15 in the dark jersey again

Currently, the only outgoing player is OH Kaylee Glagau, but it may just be due to her wanting to focus on playing for the beach team than trying to play both indoor and on the beach. Glagau is a confirmed exit?

Glagau is a confirmed exit? No, she is not a confirmed exit. However, it would be the “most likely” option since we have one more scholarship available. I’m not aware if any players are transferring out of the program, but one of the players is not on a scholarship anymore. It could very likely be someone else who is no longer on a scholarship as well.

I can imagine Amber going to a full beach scholarship after next year.

Since Jolie Rasmussen has not gotten her Degree yet, and her name is, so far, not in the Transfer Portal, it could only mean one of two things. Either, she will just concentrate on her academics, or that she will return for her Covid Senior year. Hopefully, and wishfully, it is the latter.

There is no way Robyn will allow Amber Igiede to be on a full beach scholarship, until after her playing career is over with the Indoor Team.

Amber can’t be on a beach scholarship and play indoor. I believe someone mentioned that she can if she has completed 2 seasons of beach? Anyone have a link to your mentioned ruling? interesting scholarship situation for potential transfers and 2022 recruits

Not sure how Robyn is able to recruit foreigners in this time of COVID, I assume she’s just going off of video tapes.. this matches don’t show me anything, not fully impressed!

Anyone have a link to your mentioned ruling? interesting scholarship situation for potential transfers and 2022 recruits She can't play indoor if she is on a beach scholarship. She can walk-on to beach and be on an indoor scholarship. Or she can walk-on to both sports, like Janelle Gong.

Some of the players that Ilayda played with and against were years older than she. I'd say a mix of high school aged and college aged. It's arguable that Turkish leagues can be more competitive because of the more limited restrictions on age. Robyn did mention that she has cut back on travel during covid and that she's been staying in contact with recruits remotely. I think a strength of reviewing video is being able to repeat plays that someone might have missed in person. I don't expect you to be impressed since this footage isn't a highlight reel and shows Ilayda's weaknesses too. This footage made me believe that Ilayda is better than I initially expected. I wasn't expecting a D ball and her ability to terminate it somewhat well.

If it was not for Volleyball, the Hawaii Athletic Department would be in trouble. Volleyball, both Women's and Men's Programs, are the only ones that are filling their facilities. None of the other sports, can bring in the kinds of fans, that Women's and Men's Volleyball teams can, especially the Women's Volleyball team, every single year. You could say, Volleyball brings the recognition to the University of Hawaii, especially the Women's Volleyball program. You could also throw in the Beach Volleyball Team, into this equation.

Well Hawaii, it seems like we are competing for 2 different local players right now (SKT and Kahahawai). Anyone know anything about either? Are y’all projected to get one? Both? Neither?

No. Some of players are professional, (Khat Bell and Adora Anae play in the same league).
No, not just tapes. There's a company Nomos that arranges opportunities for athletes to showcase their skills and for coaches to watch. (2020 was held in Greece and Turkey) I'm not sure if Robyn was there, but that would be the opportunity to do so. (the Nomos staff and many other D1 coaches were there)
