Yeah we had a long-standing thing going but that doesn’t mean we have to continue on that path. I know I’m not crying about UCLA not coming here. They are nothing special IMHO. I will enjoying seeing USC and all their talent. Those two matches should be sell outs. The UCLA series was always an interesting one. Given the history of both of the programs, it's not a heated rivalry. Despite playing each other every year for over 40 years, they have barely played each other in the NCAA tournament, so their was never really bad blood between the programs. They're good but it wasn't a rivalry that the fans would really get excited about watching. I'll miss seeing them, but the tradition had to end at some point and it frees up the schedule for both programs.

USD and USC! WCC and Pac12 matchups I hoped for. Both teams have reloaded and might be better than last year.

There's going to be some overlap on 9/11 with Wahine VBall vs. USC at 7pm HST and the Football game with UH at Oregon State which starts at 5pm HST. Good thing I have two TVs. Lol.

I’m taping the football game and watching the volleyball game. Going to a fun 2 matches with the Trojans and hopefully a yearly battle. Wouldn’t mind a home and home with USC. The Galen Center is a great arena to watch a match.

Without looking it up, I can't even name the current USC women's volleyball head coach.
(Yes, I looked it up just now. The name doesn't ring any bells. That's how out of it I am with women's volleyball.)

So who’s this 6’5” opposite Turkish player Robin signed. Did I miss something before or is this new? Just saw it on the UH website.

Figure she’s the “Turkish Hammer” of lore that was always being mentioned. It will be interesting to see how hard these freshmen will push the returning sophomores at the pins.

I am definitely excited to see all of the competition at the pins! Also, I am not sure if anyone else noted this before, but everyone was speculating whether or not Jolie would return, and it appears that she removed playing for Wahine volleyball from her bio. I wish her nothing but the best, and I am glad that she got to represent the Wahine for even a short period of time!

I think she was putting every once of effort into making 2020 work but when the BW decided to cancel the season, I think she got devastated and probably didn’t have the desire to go thru that again. Very unfortunate but I hope she can find a way to still be involve with the team. Student manager? Grad assistant? James Anastasiaades returned for his last season for the men’s team as a student manager and was rewarded with a championship ring. Jolie could be honor on senior night with her fellow Oregon transfers Kyra Hanawahine and BVS. That would be nice for someone who have gone thru a lot. She could remain in school and make some money off the NIL thing. She is still quite recognizable in Hawaii.

On a positive note, fans need to be on the look out for Freshman HSer Chalei Reid this upcoming season. Earned MVP honors at a club tourney recently.
Coached by Barney, Bailey, Eleu Choy, and Filip Humler I believe. She has strong UH connections and island pride.

Even without JR, I still expect Hawaii to win the BW but I don't see the conference getting more than 1 bid and it'll be tough for UH to be ranked in the top 15 at end of the season.
Preseason could be ugly for the BW with a lot of freshmen playing big roles in the conference this fall.
