Such a big thank you to coach Ang - for her time as a player and coach! She helped this program rebound when she came in as a player (getting it back to the final four after years away), and in a way, helped it rebound again as a coach (helping the program get back at least to the Round of 16).
If we're thinking of an assistant/associate who can help in the international recruiting front ... Robyn played internationally for many years. I wonder if there's any coaches or players from her playing days, who might want to coach alongside her now ... and maybe keep the European recruiting pipeline open?

The U20 Championship starts tomorrow, Poland will be playing Belarus first. Hopefully we get to see more of Leoniak. I didn't watch the match, but based on the stats it looks like Leoniak didn't play. |

This is a huge loss for the Wahine program. Just about a month and a half away from the season so it must have been a pressing reason for Coach Ang to go back to Sweden. I hope for the best for her and her Ohana.

The U20 Championship starts tomorrow, Poland will be playing Belarus first. Hopefully we get to see more of Leoniak. I didn't watch the match, but based on the stats it looks like Leoniak didn't play. Leoniak is a great get for Hawaii but her OH teammates on the U20 team are very good. They include Orzol the Wisconsin commit and Czyrnianska who was called up to the Polish Senior National Team. Still a good opportunity for Leoniak to participate in high level volleyball |

Orzol... didn't spot her on the court or bench. According to one post, she twisted an ankle and probably not available. |

Wonder if coach Ang leaving will have any impact on the foreign recruits that she helped get over? Possibly, I'm also afraid that some of the middle recruits that UH had eyes on may look elsewhere Don’t count Coach Rob and Kaleo short. I am okay with no more Swedish players tbh. Poland and Turkey have a much deeper talent pool. |

Dang…forgot about a volunteer coach who coached with Robyn 2 seasons ago. What are the chances that Nick Castello comes back? He is not a the best out there but he coached with Robyn and Kaleo before and don’t need much of a transition period.

It seems to me that Robyn is the type that want's a coach that she knows. In other words she's not going to put out a cattle call and pick someone she doesn't know.....

It's interesting.... because the Beach Program falls under Ah Mow, it seems a necessity to hire a dual indoor assistant and beach head coach. But wow, that's asking a lot this late in the game. Will certainly miss Ljunquist. It'll be interesting to see what comes of the coaching situation...

How about you Wiz. It's a step up to college coaching, but you know the position as well as Ang does. Just fill in for this Fall, lol. I don’t think my body can take it. If it was 20 years ago, yes maybe.There’s also Deitre, she needs a job. (Hahaha, she’s going to kill me!). Haha! yeah I wouldn't mess with Deitre. Heck has it been that long ago? It seems like not long ago I talked to you and your hubby at the Stan. Your two daughters were so little. |
