Bows face Utah Valley (Sept. 2) before they head to the Utah tournament on their first road trip Was this game added because UH will not be playing CP?. I noticed that the Utah Classic is a 4 teams 2 days tourney…..which means teams have to play 2 matches in one day. I don’t think UH have played in this type of set up before. I’m guessing we will play SD once, Utah once and be done with the tournament. The Utah Valley match would be like the 3rd match of a tournament.

No mention of Williams amongst the returners in the end of the article They also mentioned 8 letterwinners but only listed 7 names so maybe she was accidentally left off?

No mention of Williams amongst the returners in the end of the article Obviously an oversight. They got the number of returning players right. The person who typed out the names either forgot Skyler or ran out of rooms on his/her screen…LOL There are always mistakes in these articles. Also listed Amber as a freshman in the story but listed her as a sophomore below the story. Probably confused Skyler and Jolie and thought it was Skyler not coming back.

did JR post about not coming back? i might have missed it... it doesn't help that the star-advertiser used a photo of JR today in it's breaking news post announcing the schedule ... way to get our hopes up! Rainbow Wahine volleyball team opens comeback season Aug. 27 By Star-Advertiser Staff Today STAR-ADVERTISER / SEPTEMBER. 2019 Hawaii’s Jolie Rasmussen slammed down a point during the second set of an NCAA Women’s Volleyball Match against Army at the Stan Sheriff Center. The University of Hawaii women’s volleyball team returns from a 20-month hiatus with a 28-match regular-season schedule starting Aug. 27 against Fairfield at SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center. After having the 2020 season canceled due to the pandemic, the 2021 schedule was released today with the Rainbow Wahine set to play eight nonconference matches, followed by a 20-match Big West schedule. UH faces Fairfield, Marquette and Texas A&M in a season-opening tournament Aug. 27-29 in Manoa. The Wahine then embark on their first road trip for a match at Utah Valley on Sept. 2 and meetings with San Diego and host Utah in the Utah Classic Sept. 3 and 4. The Wahine close the nonconference schedule with a home series against USC on Sept. 10 and 11. The Wahine have their alumni and Green and White matches scheduled for Sept. 17. The Big West schedule increased to 20 matches with the additions of CSU Bakersfield and UC San Diego. The conference season opens Sept. 23 at UC Riverside and ends on Nov. 27 with a senior night match against UC Santa Barbara. The NCAA Tournament is set to begin on Dec. 2. The opener against Fairfield will be UH’s first match since a loss to Nebraska in the NCAA regionals on Dec. 13, 2019 to cap a 26-4 season. The Rainbow Wahine went 14-2 in Big West play in 2019 and will enter the 2021 season as the reigning conference champions. The conference initially postponed the 2020 fall sports schedule last July, then canceled the season in December. www.staradvertiser.com/2021/07/16/sports/sports-breaking/rainbow-wahine-volleyball-team-opens-comeback-season-aug-27/

did JR post about not coming back? i might have missed it... She doesn’t need to post anything. The UH athletic website stated that 8 returners are returning and listed all 8. Jolie is not on the list so you got to think she will not be back. Many athletes have left the UH athletic programs and not posted anything.

Yeah it looks like JR isn't coming back for her final year. That's a bummer because I really hoping to see her healthy and playing at her best for her final year...

Wahine Release Exciting 2021 Schedule Story LinksHONOLULU – After more than 20 months without Rainbow Wahine volleyball, the University of Hawai'i volleyball program is just weeks away from their 2019 Big West title defense season as the 2021 schedule was announced Friday morning. Hawai'i will face two PAC-12 schools, a SEC school and two 2020 NCAA Tournament contestants during the 2021 season. "We are very excited for the upcoming 2021 season," Wahine head coach Robyn Ah Mow said. "These women, along with the other 10 Big West programs have been waiting for this opportunity for the last year and a half. I can confidently say that the Rainbow Wahine are eager to step onto the teraflex on August 27th against a very good Fairfield team. "This schedule will be great competition against teams that will do well in their respective conferences and will prepare us for our 20 match conference season." The Rainbow Wahine will open the season with a tournament in SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center comprised of Fairfield, Marquette and Texas A&M before heading on the road to Utah for off-island non-conference games for the second-consecutive season. A new UH job posting for Temporary Women's Assistant Volleyball coach was posted. Could this mean a possible coach Ang return?
Who will fill the temp role? Dave Shoji? Tom Pestolesi?
