What was wrong with the Southland? is the WAC really a step up? They are bringing back Wac Football, after nearly a decade long hiatus.

If true, so far it is...
Football Dixie State (UT) Southern Utah Tarleton State (TX) Lamar (TX) Sam Houston (TX) Stephan S Austin (TX) Abiline Christian (TX)
Volleyball/Basketball Football schools, plus: New Mexico State Grand Canyon (AZ) Rio Grande (TX) Utah Valley Cal Baptist Seattle Chicago St
*Bakersfield and Kansas City are already bolting for greener pastures. Chicago I would assume would be next.
So they obviously need one more football school in order to make it work. Does NMSU finally pull the plug on FBS Independence? Doubtful. Does a school like Rio Grande start up a team? Unlikely. Can they poach a Weber State or Northern Arizona? Possibly.
What do the "Divisions" look like for Volleyball?

I am just amazed that they survived. No conference has received more deathblows over the years. They entire lineup from top to bottom has been replaced multiple times. Yet they are even tougher to kill off than a govt agency that is no longer necessary. They'll add D2 call ups from all over the entire east coast and Midwest if they have to, before they will throw in the towel.
