But indoor would end, then she could play 1 season of beach after, no? Could she? Yes. Will she? Most likely, no. Hammons is strictly an indoor WVB get, but is it possible that the beach staff would look closely and consider adding her in 2022? Sure, but it doesn't even seem necessary considering the talent returning for USC next spring. Also - to be technically clear, USC has never had any player participate as part of both rosters at the same time. Bria Russ played indoor in the fall of 2011 and then by the fall of 2012, she had left the indoor roster to play beach VB exclusively - and then went three springs with that team (2013, '14, '15). Emily Young was part of the inaugural beach VB roster in spring of 2012, but once Mick issued the edict that the teams had to be separate, she stayed exclusively indoors until she finished in the fall of 2014. She then was part of the beach VB roster in 2015 and again in 2016 as a graduate student. Going the other direction, Ettinger would have returned to the indoor team in the fall of 2015 (and did) but suffered an injury before the fall began. Alexa Strange tried to play indoor in the fall of 2016, but that didn't work out. And then Abril Bustamante attempted to play for Crouch in the fall of 2019, but that also was short lived.... Regarding the dual indoor/beach - I brought this up about Collier having a beach only rule for players but it seemed people didn't think Dain was going to continue with that. That was also months ago

I know she played at fours but I really believed that Dennis deserved to be at least second team after the year she had this year.

Dennis was perfect at the 4 and that is where she deserved to be based on her past performances prior to this season. Yes, she had a fantastic year this season, and played smart, which was a problem in past season. But a big part of her success this season was due in large part to her playing at the four and not at the 2 or 3. If she had another year of eligibility and came back I would have her at the 4 again, where she would dominate. The three spot would produce less wins and the two spot even fewer.

Megan Kraft is the VolleyballMag.com Freshman of the Year. She got five of the six votes for Freshman of the Year. The product of Torrey Pines High School in San Diego went 14-1 with Graudina as USC’s top pair. “Megan Kraft came in with athletic ability, an incredible skill-set, great mechanics, a high volleyball IQ and the ability to learn the game,” Rob Espero said. “With the coaching style of Dain Blanton, an Olympic-caliber partner in Tina Graudina, she developed into one of the top 10 players in NCAA Division I collegiate beach volleyball.”

Latvia’s Tina Graudina and Anastasija Kravcenoka advanced to their first Final Four on the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour as the Sochi 4-star semifinalists emerged on Friday. www.fivb.com/en/about/news/first-final-four-for-kravcenoka--graudina?id=93703“We played three matches today, which was a first for us, because we usually lose in the second round. The fact that we made it to the third round and had nothing to lose put our mentality at 100% and we just went for it!” Tina Graudina said and commented on their next opponents. “Huberli and Betschart are a very good team. We’ve had shared history. We’ve known them for quite some time. It’s tough against them, so we’ll try to recover during the night and just give our all tomorrow.”

Graudina did not hide that she is non-commital about returning to SC next year. She might be the difference between a repeat next year. With her in the SC lineup and the new transfers and freshmen coming in, SC would be the clear favorite to win again next year. Without Graudina SC still might be favored, but the bruins will be right there with them.

What are the chances any of them beat out Olivia Bakos, Mollie Ebertin, Harper Hallgren, or Caitlin Cummings for a possible starter spot (if Tina elects not to return)? That's a tough question. There is room for three spots among the 5 starting pairs, provided the rumored transfers of Villapondo and Schaefer do not occur. I would think that with Graudina gone and no transfers SC will move Bakos, Bennett and one another freshman into the starting lineup. Ebertin, Hallgren and Cummings may be looking to transfer after the fall if they can see that the incoming freshmen are better and likely to grab a spot ahead of them. Blanton has some tough decisions to make. Any player who does not make the starting 5, especially the freshman, might be better off redshirting, because after next season, SC will lose Harward, Scoles and Slater. A lot of spots will open up.

Congrats to the Nourse sisters. Surprised by this showing because they were struggling down the stretch with SC and even lost the last three duals against the ucla 5 pair. Thank you @volley2021 for posting the win from the twins. atthebeach They weren't struggling down the stretch at USC, they lost only three matches and one when one of the was sick. The best win/loss record at USC this year and last year. Very harsh, especially when they both came into the season injured. Please be careful what you say about all of these young athletes, not just my daughters, but all of these girls that many of you are very quick to judge without knowing the details or adequate facts surrounding their play, their health status and their performance. If you noticed, Joy Dennis actually put a screen shot of one of the mean comments from one of you on this site on her social media. She posted it when she proved the individual wrong who posted the comment when she got her 100th win. This was the first I had seen of this site and then I got on it and have read just some of what is going on with discussing on this site--all of these young women work very hard to get where they are and don't deserve many of the comments that are harshly written, especially when you don't have all and in some cases any of the pertinent information needed to make an adequate assessment of these girls. bvbfanatic , you really wrote that the "twins need to get their sh*t together"? They won key matches for USC all year. They work hard in the classroom, on and off the court--during the season and in the of season. They have their sh*t together, just ask any one of their coaches--Dain Blanton, Holly McPeak or Jose Loyola--they can give you their professional opinion about them, their ability and their work ethic. Please be mindful of your comments because many are hurtful to these young hard working athletes. Nourse twins mom, Sherri Nourse

VOLLEYBALLTM, I truly appreciate what you're saying and I would never disparage or unfairly criticize any of these student athletes. They are special kids with special talents. I know they work extremely hard on and off the courts. They deserve all our respect. Anything I post is what I see and an honest attempt to evaluate and assess fairly and objectively. It's never meant to hurt or personally attack the players. I posted that down the stretch the twins were struggling. That doesn't mean they weren't winning, it just means they weren't as dominant in the latter part of the season, especially against the bruin pair they beat three times earlier in the season. You've now admitted that one was sick. So I wasn't wrong. I just didn't know why they were not as dominant in the latter part of the season. Frankly, I thought it was an injury that was not disclosed. But i knew something was wrong, and now you have told me that at least part of it could be to one being sick. It's tough to be a parent of these student athletes and read posts on message boards that criticize your child. But that comes with the territory when you play a sport that is in the public eye. No one wants to read criticism on their child, but as long as it is fair and absence of malice and contempt, then you should accept it as constructive criticism
