So as per USNT website they have 22 in the roster. If they will bring 18 players. 4 players from these roster will be out for VNL and most likely from olympic and from 18 down to 12 players going to tokyo. Can somebody tell me why rivers is not listed here? She quite or kiraly did not give her a call. She is short for opposite but she is great and doing everything. usavolleyball.org/womens-national-team/ I think she got called for the VNL one summer and some of the B team competitions but shes never been really with the A team

I could see Karch leaving Plummer off for SWP which I think would be a waste and a mistake because I don't think any other OH will unseat the top 4, so why bring any others at all? I don’t disagree with this in theory; but in practice this sets a poor precedent, IMO. Too much of this is how you shrink your pool of athletes to choose from; if they’re working their ass of for you for four years, and you choose to leave them home in favor of new talent, eventually you’re not going to have anyone for more than a year or two. Why continue to work on your game if you know you’re disposable every time a new class graduates? Although I do see the flip side - in order to keep the new talent in your pipeline you need to put them on some rosters. Gah. I hate roster making. I 100% agree. I just think that KP has a bigger ceiling compared to SWP, and I know that the latter had a good season in Turkey but her passing is still not there and she isn't known from shining under pressure like KP. Most of SWP's big scoring matches appeared to be when she wasn't passing and was on the right. I honestly would take both at the expense of Tori Dixon if she is still injured. All 4 of the other top middles offer a more offensive threat but Tori is a very good blocker and offers more of an all around game so that is a tough decision. Just having 21 roster spots would allow the correct amount of players to make the cut IMO but we don't know for certain how big the roster will be allowed to be. Also, this isn't a typical quad due to Covid. It will be interesting to see who Karch chooses. I don't see a ton of new talent making the cut this time around. What I am worried about is that we don't see a ton of new faces in the gym until 2023 since the WCH is next year. I could see more vets sticking it out one more season. Akinradewo and Larson will probably play until their bodies betray them. Akinradewo could be another Danielle Scott-Arruda and play until she is 40. If she stays in form, I think USA will have to keep utilizing her, especially now that Poulter has arrived on the scene and we haven't seen their connection yet. I agree, roster management is tough. However, with a talent pool as deep as the USA has, there has to be delicate management and careful investment in future talent of we are going to continue to see years like 2018 when several vets should have been pushed out earlier but were not and the team suffered as a whole. Karch doesn't owe any athlete anything. If they don't perform, there are many others that can be cultivated and brought up through the pipeline.

More news from Poland today
Each team will decide how to allocate their 25 places between players/staff There is only one way into the bubble, the start. There is no leaving or adding players later. Says the entry fee is "150,000" unsure if that's USD/euros/Poland's currency

I know the Japanese Volleyball Association hinted they might not send their men's and women's teams abroad despite a bubble format.
I wonder which others haven't agreed to join the bubble yet.

I don't see them leaving ANY staff behind. They will probably just take 18 players and call it a day. No?

Limiting his post to one word was better.

I wonder if they feel the same way. 2 would prevent double-subs happening if there are injuries.

The only position that might only have two players brought to the bubble will likely be libero.
