Would really like to know what caused McGraw to leave the match. She was walking, unassisted, towel around her neck, flanked by trainers out of the gym. me too. I don’t think she was injured or sick

What a great match. I don’t see a way tomorrow is as entertaining. Samedy, Cleveland, and Newton have to be gassed. Purdue serving really started to fall off at the end. I think the choice in Purdue's serving target once McGraw exited was a mistake. They shouldn't have gone after Rollins who's had to be a 6-rotation passing OH her entire Minnesota career. She's just been too solid this season. I think they should've targeted someone else. But yeah, tomorrow could go either way but I doubt it's another epic 5-setter like this one was.

Would be a mild surprise to see CC in the lineup tomorrow. She looked lethargic from the start. Hopefully just a mild illness.

Myers has been starting since the beginning of the season. But Rubright looks like she deserves that MB position.
Just a great shout out to this entire Gopher team for the win. Special Kudos to Kilkelly and Wenaas
Cannot wait until tomorrow's match. Just outstanding BIG volleyball to watch by both teams tonight.
Now that's the Samedy we all know and are happy to see.

Very entertaining match! Purdue playing like a top ten team. I thought their setter played well and their back row made MN work for everything. I think this is the best I’ve seen Samedy play. CC is better than what she showed tonight. I’m confident that this was an anomaly. With two good coaches, it’ll be interesting to see how tomorrow’s match goes.
I’m glad that I refrained from posting during the first two sets. I might have said some things that I regret later.

I thought Newton also played better than she normally does. Hats off to her and Samedy.

I didn’t watch the first 2 sets, but the comments on CC seem a little barbaric. She obviously wasn’t asked to leave the game. I worked for a college team for 3 years and never once saw a player leave the building early. That’s with players experiencing broken collarbones, torn ACLs and a ruptured Achilles. Now maybe there is something different with Covid protocols. Seeing her get walked out of the building by the trainer and I believe the strength coach didn’t give me the urge to mock her play this evening, but instead really worried me.

I'm worried too. She wasn't walked out of the building but out of the gym - probably to the locker room for an ice bath. I hope nothing serious.

I thought Rubright did a nice job tonight on taking the ball on some of Purdue's short serves. Her passes may not have been perfect, but they were good. Rubright certainly looked more comfortable receiving serves than most NCAA middles seem to.
One thing that wasn't as good for Minnesota was their first ball contact on some of Purdue's off-speed shots, or shots that popped up high off of blocks. On too many occasions, Minnesota's first contact on balls that weren't moving that fast went backward, and lots of players had that problem (I saw Pittman once and Shaffmaster once, but I think there were others as well).
