That article pretty much described how I felt about the whole match. Happy about the serving for the badgers, but those kills on overpasses really took the wind out of the sails of the serving game early on, and then the team just seemed on their heels and a little bit dazed and disconnected a lot of the time. Rutgers played with more spirit and were better connected for more of the match. They just get better every year, but this year there were none of the melt downs we've seen in previous seasons.

I would expect Wisconsin to come out on fire today. Shouldn't have to have what was basically a public flogging from your coach to bring the energy. But, they should be flying tonight.

Sheff pregame 2:
What caused the funky start? Some strange plays right from the get go kind of got players mentally off. Haggerty serve run helped correct that. Serve was much better. They generally were much better removing spin from the ball. Rutgers are a very unusual attacking team. Led to problems on the block (UW had 11 I think!) Fundamentals were an issue. They were reaching too much which allowed them to hit off high hands. Also problems with the low seam as a result. Had issues blocking the slide. Subs were supposed to fix that but it didn't do much. They also were not awake to the wipes off the block. Felt transition was slow - they had a hard time dealing with it when the first ball didn't go done. Rutgers is playing with a lot more joy and tenacity in Defense, and the team kind of wasn't ready for it.
White on Rutgers: The Rutgers players just look more invested with new coaches. Reminds him of the 2013 badger team. Badgers depth has positives and negatives. Gives options, but it can disrupt team as individuals adjust to being on floor with new people. Need to do a better job getting hands into their side of the net. They remind him a bit of Deme Morales. Offensively they moved the ball around pretty well. Had success when they started shifting planes of attack

Is Robinson was the right side in 2016, would the Badgers had a national championship? I always thought the RS was the weakest link.
