Nice that the video lags behind the statscast. Little less stressful that way!

21-25. UW wins set 3.
Badgers were playing a different system that set, and had to bring in Barnes to improve ball control, but that was really competitive from Rutgers.

An interesting comment on Molly.
"Molly is Molly." She'd be out there in the last set if she could or something like that.
It's sounds clear she didn't want to come out, but she felt a tweak and they decided to keep her out to protect her.

Hoping Haggerty is fine for next weekend, but it is nice they actually have other players who can fill the spot. At least they played better in the first two sets and got the sweeps for the weekend. Learn they can't come out flat and move on.

The Badgers don't seem to have consistency on the left. Friday night Grace Loberg was a little off but Molly Haggerty was having a really good night. Tonight Molly was a little off but Grace had a really good night. Fortunately for WI, it's rare for them both to have a sub-par night. On the bright side, WI in set 1 was a completely different and better team on Saturday than Friday. For Rutgers, in set 3 Saturday they were a completely different and better team than Friday.
I'm going to be fascinated to see how Rutger's season turns out. They've got a real volleyball team! I think they'll have a team record number of wins in the B1G this year. I could see them going 5-17 or something. If they can keep improving, we could start seeing them in the NCAA tournament by the latter half of the '20s.

SPEAK ON THIS Why is Hilley's distribution so bad? You know who DOESN'T need 50% of this team's swings?? Haggerty and Loberg, two consistent, proven players that would probably benefit from a lighter load. You know who MIGHT need more swings in order to build comfortability and trust??? YOUR STUD FRESHMAN. I'm so mad (mostly because she's on my fantasy team and is putting up awful numbers). You know who else doesn't need more swings than anyone else? Rettke. Sorry, but she doesn't. As we've seen for 3+ years now, Rettke having a career night does not mean that Wisconsin is going to win the match. I'm just so surprised that there's no effort from the staff or Hilley to build and strengthen the offense around Rettke. This has always been my problem with Hilley. The decision-making ain't there. Robinson is hitting .400 ON A PIN and is getting fewer sets than Hart.

Probably because Hilley has not had to set to the right side consistently for her entire Badger career? It has always been the last option.

Learn they can't come out flat and move on. Waite seemed unfazed when he mentioned the ice on the back. Made it seems a minor precaution. I don't how he would know other than experience.
