Didn't see enough out of Georgia Tech to get overly worried. Gophers just need to knock the rust off right away. Hope CC is able to play.

Minnesota is making their 25th tournament appearance and are 183-109 (.627) in sets played. The Golden Gophers have finished in the Sweet Sixteen 10 times, the Elite Eight 2 times, the Final Four 5 times (2003,2009,2015,2016,2019) and Runner_up in 2004, when they lost to Stanford 3-0.

GA Tech is a dangerous offensive team....When they are defensively sound, they have so many lethal weapons. However, if Minnesota keeps them off balance in the back row, it will be an easy feat.

They need to watch out for the red-haired OH (Bergmann). The little I caught of the match, she was their main offensive weapon.

Extremely dissapointed no one has pointed out the 2004 round of 16 match up played at Minnesota between these 2 teams. Highlighted by set 4 Ga Tech 48-46 victory, although Minnesota won in 5 sets. A classic battle.

The best way to attack Georgia Tech is straight down the middle and take advantage of some more offensively-minded middles. We'll see if Minnesota's connections on the quicks improve.
There's also gonna be a LOT of out of system play in this match.
Minnesota should sweep as long as Samedy is in uniform and they don't get too passive on their serving.

Serving may be where we miss CC McGraw the most. Also, we probably can't count a Pittman getting a dozen blocks because GT has two proficient back row attackers - way more difficult to block IMO. I'd like to see some extra good floor coverage by Minnesota.
Out of system is a Minnesota strength, lol.

Is it possible to watch this game from Europe? I couldn't find the ESPN3 link. The link from the first point seems operational to me. I have no idea how it works in Europe.
