it wasn’t just lopsided. There was 0 respect for the bears in the poll against a team they had already beaten this seasons They beat them narrowly, in 5, at home and were having a rematch on a neutral court. I expected Baylor to turn it up and win, but the "disrespect" card here is ridiculous. 15-6 in the 5th isn’t narrowly.

Maybe some of us had doubts about Baylor after they lost in 4, at home, against Texas State to end the season. I haven't watched any of Texas State this year. How serious is this team? They played like 50 matches and you couldn't catch one? Jk. They're serious enough to win at Baylor and lose at home to TCU. Take that as you may.

I was confused: linesman called out: but Baylor got point? And not sure that Pepperdine was asking if block hit floor during rally when pepperdine blocked OH- baylor covered hitter and saved with what looked like pancake and then ended up with that in-out craziness! And your critique of announcer; usually an announcer is in gym while we are at home and we count on them to see what we cant see and hear what we cant hear: but the announcers are at home too! Announcers have done yeoman performance and your criticism is completely un-warranted and without merit! oh spare us the righteous defense. It was a funny moment of a commentator clearly not being familiar with enough matches to get past his prep material of "ball out, flag up". It was a confusing challenge and during replay i was also confused: if you want to call it “righteous” defense of announcer i will own defending announcer: these guys are professionals who were called in at last minute: these are full time guys/girls who do this for a living: not some college radio/tv major interning: an i for one will appreciate the cauldron they were thrown into: so if some un named poster but obviously more skilled at announcing then the pro’s. them selves and doesn’t appreciate what the annoumcers are doing i will be happy to be the one to defend !

That's odd, because it doesn't sound like you find it funny. It sounds like you find it irritating. Which homers is that exactly? The B1G homers that are rooting for a WCC team? I really don't consider myself a homer for any team Pretty sure I saw plenty of B1G fans hoping for Rice to take down Penn State too. What, us? No. We would never do that.

I thought the up official immediately overruled the line judges call. I was watching and i didnt see that? But if that happened that would account for it: but i dont think it was obvious from watching match: so count me and announcer as confused; we didnt have enough info or replays of entire rally to understand the moment!

Yeah, the fifth set wasn't particularly close (15-7), but Baylor only had a four-point edge over Pepperdine in the first four sets. And of course, Baylor was playing at home, which is enough of an advantage to account for one point per set.

Well I saw the line judge signal then up official do opposite and then there seemed to be confusion on the court. I watch officials quickly in matches as I officiate. I feel bad for the at home announcers who don't have a color commentary person with them. Lots to digest in a hurry.

Take that as you may. My theory is they wanted to honor recently retired Karen Chisum’s 40 years coaching the program with a 40-match season.

Announcers have done yeoman performance and your criticism is completely un-warranted and without merit! We know this is harder. People have been generally impressed by the announcing and have praised it appropriately. This specific criticism is perfectly warranted. It must be rough being that line judge's parent on this forum though. Ha ha! Sorry dude but i thought it was a confusing moment: and mostly supportive of but mixed on announcers as i read it: but in knwo way have i read every post so no way to be anything but a personal view:but calling me out for saying it was a confusing moment : the self important untrained posters continue to be self righteous and personal when someone tweaks their little world!

They are a good team that can play you close and can "steal" a set if Nebraska is not playing well. Texas played them twice this year. Both were sweeps, but fairly different matches. First one was consistent with Texas winning -18, -18, -19 (or close to that). Second one was -11, -11, -21. Texas dominated the first two sets as the score indicates, but then had to come from behind to win the third set. IIRC Texas State was up 4 or 5 points at one time in that set. Didn't see their match against Baylor, but sounds like they played much like they did that last set against Texas.

well, to be fair, Baylor was without one of their leading scorers and RS blockers, Pepperdine was full strength, and they went 5 before? Listen to the leading homer. You calling anyone else a homer is funny.
