So you aren't including the 3 passes in with the GP% That makes a difference. Thanks for clarifying. As I said when you initially asked, a good pass is simply 2+. So yes, GP% includes 3 passes, it just doesn't differentiate between 2 and 3. And again, these are VM grades. Each program grades slightly differently but we do use these numbers when preparing our scouting reports and they have value from a comparative perspective. I'm sorry but your definitions don't make sense. What is the definition of gp%? How is it calculated? You tied it to the 3.0 scale. I am simply trying to understand.

A 2 or 3 pass is good. A 1 or an error is not. The Gophers have a 44.4% good pass percentage. So 44.4% of their passes are 2 or 3.

Mega congrats to Pitt. Not all gopher fans are salty about watching a talented team win a volleyball match. I hope the panthers keep playing well. I’ve enjoyed watching them play these last few years. They’ve got some great moxie.

Can someone confirm if this is the end of seeing Pittman and Samedy in a Gopher uniform?

I had to have dinner and some wine before I posted here. I haven't read most of your comments yet. What I saw was Shafmaster having a bad night. Way too many tight sets. Sure, blame the passing (I assume somebody has been doing that) but the passing was not that much worse than what we have had this season, maybe better. There was just too many tight sets against a good defensive team. Also, there was a lack of fire - I don't know how to describe it. Pitt was very good.

Wow, Minnesota just handed Washington their first Final Four since 2013. Congrats Washington! They need to beat Louisville first. I sarcastically said they need to beat Dayton first a couple days ago and here we are.

Congrats to Pitt. Sorry to Gopher fans. I don't think Samedy will be back, since I think a lot of clubs will be rightly interested in paying her money to play volleyball. That said, I do think Wenaas will find her way as a hitter, and Shaffmaster will get better with middle connections, with or without Pittman, so I don't see the Gophers going away as a very good program any time soon.

we get you hate teams that don’t play in the big ten. We get that you think they suck. You don’t have to keep saying jt You don't need to keep responding. Let them troll. It just mades them look insecure. Have a look in the mirror.

While the delivery of the message is severely lacking, I'm not sure he/she is entirely wrong. I'm a HUGE fan of Samedy and Pittman, and I feel for them. But other than those two, and occasionally Rollins, I haven't seen a lot of fire and passion from the Minnesota players this season. Landfair is HUGELY talented, but damned if she doesn't look completely bored at all times. So I do think a lack of emotion hurt Minnesota, that and first ball contact. Can't win, especially in women's volleyball, when your middles get only 13 combined attempts in a 5-set match. Emotion is highly overrated. Know what isn't overrated? Winning!
