Uhhhh, Southwest Conference? Has a nice ring to it. So SWC instead of SEC...

Texas should create their own conference... schools over there are pretty strong and plenty to create their own conference... I don’t know what you would call that conference but I can DEFINITELY see a conference which mostly have Texas teams... I know it’s never going to happen but worth mentioning it... Lone Star conference... THE ONE AND ONLY🥰

Who has better potential for the national team, Rettke or Brionne? I feel like Brionne is more dynamic, she hits some unreal angles and has such a high contact point. I think she’s also a better block. If that’s the future of USA middles I like where things are heading. Rettke won't be on the national team. Too slow, she's got the slide but international ball is so fast. Maybe with work who knows. The vanishing act two years in a row doesn't help unfortunately.

I always thought Retke was plying out of position: its pretty late but really should have been an opp maybe an OH if she had been given the opportunity way earlier! If she was a russian she would be OH or Opp: i remember her getting a pipe last year OOS when she was servimg and the announcers saying wow !! But in USA lots of “tall” girls get shoe horned into a position early and the specialize to soon and dont get to develop their skill set so we never know who/what they could have been!

The entire Texas Team is All American. They are strong in every single position. It’s the best all around team there’s been. But the best part was how everyone stood up to the pressure tonight. Kentucky doesn’t have that same capacity. If Texas plays the way they did against the best Big 10 teams - it will be over a la Oregon 2012.
Eggleston. Was. Robbed.

Finally realized he can import a Libero from the B1G and pick up an already well-coached DS from a die-hard vball family to fix the passing woes. Mmmmm, he didn't "import" O'Brien. When they kept saying that O'Brien transferred to Texas.....not exactly true. Elliot found her in grad school (had no idea she enrolled at Texas) and asked if she'd like to walk on. Ah my apologies then. That's a pretty cool story!

I don't remember personally questioning Texas or Kentucky, having not seen much of them in the fall or spring, sadly. The one think I will say is that I am *&^&^## ed at COVID-19 for, among a zillion other things and the way too many people it has taken, canceling the fall tournament that would have brought Kentucky to Madison to play the Badgers and at least one other team. That would have been awesome!

Do you mean it's the best all around Texas team there has been? I'd say you are way off base if you think it is the best NCAA team there's been. I can think of several Penn State and Stanford teams that were much better than this Texas team. Probably a few USC and LBSU teams also. Even the 2009 Texas team was better than this one.

I knew I wasn’t clear on that - the best all around TEXAS team is what I should have said. It’s subjective but I believe this team from an all around capacity is better than 2009. 2009 definitely had some glamour players - but this team’s egos are ... hmm.... healthier.

I think it is the best Texas team since the Hooker/Engle/Kisner group that ran into an all time great group of Lions, as I posted during the match. I would take the 2008-09 Lions over everyone ever, including the iconic 2002-03 USC group and 2005 Washington, which swept the tournament.

Personally I think either another strong team should enter Big 12 or Texas should find another conference... for volleyball?
