Not only was Jordan Larson selected as the MVP of the Olympics, but Justine Wong-Orantes was named the best libero!
What a move by Coach Cook to take a gamble on Justine as an undersized setter and beach recruit coming out of club and high school and giving her the libero jersey at Nebraska.

I always thought that the Linda nickname came from the Portuguese/Spanish translation of "beautiful" but I have no knowledge of when she got the nickname. It could have been when Cook was recruiting her when she was in 7/8 grade. Names are not his strong suit. Lol

In Justine’s defense, there were things happening behind the scenes in 2018-2019 that led to her uninspired performances. After she overcame those obstacles outside of volleyball, she was in a much better emotional state to continue being the goddess of the back row. |
