She isn't listed on the roster. I don't know what her plans are. She's in the team picture. Interesting to find out what's up. She’s not in the picture

Always sad to see an athlete have to retire for physical reasons. It's been fun watching Zuhn compete. All the best to Riley in the future. This made me think back to Waverly's Olivia Boender.

Not only was Jordan Larson selected as the MVP of the Olympics, but Justine Wong-Orantes was named the best libero! What a move by Coach Cook to take a gamble on Justine as an undersized setter and beach recruit coming out of club and high school and giving her the libero jersey at Nebraska. ☑️ First Team All-American ☑️ National Champion ☑️ OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALIST Justine was so good it is just hard to believe that the Nat. team had so many questions about the Libero position for so long. Two things. It wasn’t much of a “gamble” to recruit JWO. She had a lot of options coming out of high school and NE was fortunate to get her. That said, everyone had questions about JWO initially and with good reason. She wasn’t good, at all!! It took her a while to catch up to the speed of the international game. It’s safe to say she’s caught up now!! She was SPECTACULAR in the Olympics!!

It might not have been a gamble to recruit Justine Wong-Orantes, because she had other offers and was planning on going to Hawaii before Nebraska entered the picture 1. It might be fair to say JWO saved Nebraska though. After Lara Dykstra abruptly left Nebraska to play beach at Pepperdine John Cook made a late push to recruit Justine, and the rest is history. While we will never know how good Sheridan Zarda or Brenna Lyles would have been I think it is safe to say Justine was the perfect player in a time of need for Nebraska.

Any whispers on if Gabel is staying at NEB or transferring? She isn't listed on the roster. I don't know what her plans are. From what I've been told, she is going to remain at Nebraska and just be a regular student.

They'll probably introduce her during a media break at a home football game, like they've done with Jordan Burroughs.

I think Cook will try to bring all 3 (and more) to a game at Devaney to honor them. What a recruiting tool! . Also like the idea of a big deal at a football game, but the volleyball faithful at Devaney want their time.

Because this is the first Olympic indoor volleyball gold medal for a US women’s team, and because Larson has been such a prominent member of the USNT for the past decade, Larson will be honored in some manner in the Devaney Center. But I believe if a statue is the option Robinson and Wong-Oranges will be included in that statue. I doubt Larson would want a statue of herself nor would that kind of statue be in keeping with the team aspect our coaches have preached for 45 years. All 3 left their mark on Nebraska volleyball and now all three have forever left their mark on the 🏐USNT. I expect Larson’s name to be attached to something in the Devaney Center. If you want to be cynical you can say a Larson-Robinson-Orantes statue will also be a recruiting bonanza, and it will be. 🏐

Imagine the young women coming to a game looking at that tribute in the entry of Devaney.

A statue of all 3 who played such a huge part in winning the US’s first Olympic gold medal will be worth its weight in gold for recruiting for the next decade. It’s all about the team.

She’s brilliant, everyone recognizes her greatness, but they have a bronze statue which celebrates all that is Nebraska Volleyball, singling out one individual isn’t how they do things.
