I found my self zooming in on Georgia, hoping for Sivrins sister hints. Silly me looking for Tea on a Kool-Aid pack. If it’s any consolation, Colgate’s Kool-Aid is toothpaste.

Stanford, Louisville, Creighton ? I think it's a great schedule if the goal is simply a Top 16 seed. Top 4? Not sure. I still think the jury is out on Stanford, while many others disagree on that. I think with Wisconsin twice, Purdue twice, Penn State twice, and other B1G games with the non-con, a top 4 seed is reachable. I mean, they’re looking at 10 or more top 10 opponents. That doesn’t even include Stanford..

At least with Utah they’ll get to face Drew’s… Maybe they can teach Arizona State how to pass poor Drews. That’s gonna be a hard match to watch. I feel like she’ll put down like 25 kills and they will still get swept I agree with the simple assessment of the Utah program. What is the world is going on with them? Not impressed with the recruiting dept at all. Drews says she is leaving and then comes back as the starting setter goes into the portal and comes up in Texas? Weird! The All-American Opp/OH leaves the program and goes to BYU. BYU has gone from a very average program the last 2 years to a powerhouse roster for the fall. Utah appears to be wandering in the wilderness. Wouldn't surprise me to see them finish bottom half of the PAC-12. Nebraska sweeps them easy. Maybe Drew's should go south to BYU also! BYU in the convo for a national championship in the fall if that happens.

Here's the full schedule. Thanks to Kingsley for the heads-up This may be the one of the most embarrassing opening schedules ever (given what others are doing).
It's like FBS football teams who schedule home games against inferior competition at the beginning of the season to pump up their record. Is Nebraska football bleeding into volleyball?

Nebraska has like potentially three freshmen being inserted into the starting lineup plus they have the toughness of the Big Ten. Would it be cool if they scheduled tougher? Sure, but it’s not the end of the world. Plus I wouldn’t sleep on KState, if they’ve got a half-decent setter they’ve got three capable hitters to throw it too. Arizona State is a solid Pac-12 team too.

We also don't have that pre-season classic tournament thing (Nike Classic?) that was guaranteeing us two tough opponents every year too.
Also, $$$$$. We can't be like Minnesota, Florida, etc. and travel the country and lose all that potential volleyball revenue. It also looks like we scheduled a bunch of schools who we can bus in for less money. It sucks, but that's life of a breadwinner in the athletic department when times are tough.

I thought Cook, in the past, had indicated that he was opposed to playing two matches in one day.

I thought Cook, in the past, had indicated that he was opposed to playing two matches in one day. He has. He's also said that a large majority of teams want to play 3 games if they come to these tournaments so 2 games in 1 day seems to be occurring more. Which is probably another reason for some of these so called "cupcakes".

Arizona State split with Washington, Stanford and Oregon. Creighton has one of the best Freshmen classes in the nation coming in. Utah has Dani Drews to test the right side defense. Stanford has recruited well and is a threat to return to form. Louisville is a well coached team that was a sweet 16 team last season.
I'm not saying this is a great schedule because it isn't. But given the big Freshmen class, the players recovering from injuries like Kennedi Orr, Riley Zuhn and Lauren Stivrins (if she's back), as well as budgetary issues. This may be the kind of OOC schedule the Huskers need.

This reminds me of the guy invited to a cookout who spends the whole time bitching about the fact that the burgers aren't wagyu beef, they do not have his favorite beer, and they are not serving "Prisoner" cabernet. First year back from a cancelled/delayed season, scheduling had to be a nightmare. If you do not like the foes, do not watch. If you have tickets, sell them to someone who will appreciate them. If you are not a Husker fan, go pollute some other thread.
