Civita hopping pretty gingerly over to sing varsity and back, getting hugs from players and coaches along the way - sure hope it isn’t serious again (A very pregnant Tionna Williams in the crowd tonight. Congrats to T!) Wow! Nice to hear about her. She was so lovely when I met her. I absolutely wish the best for her.

So Barnsey, you wanna catch? OK. Jade, you OK with right field? And then Jardine, you're the rover tonight. Great win, but geez! Enough already! (A very pregnant Tionna Williams in the crowd tonight. Congrats to T!) Yeah. Barnes was great, however. Hoping baby T is born very healthy for both baby and mom!

I thought I saw Haggerty, but... masks. I most often get there pretty early and sit a half-dozen rows up from the bench; former players will just about always stop by before or during warm-ups to say hello and chat, etc. No doubt Haggerty would have, and I did not see her, so....

Civita got hurt at end of practice Thursday Yeah. So Sheff revealed. So they practiced the whole week with her in the BR. It makes the win even more impressive. The brace didn’t look particularly restrictive so hopefully only a strain. But with her history we’ll have to wait and see.

It was also clear from the postgame that Orzol and Sheff had a talk about errors after the Maryland match. One thing I’ve noticed for Poland was that she would sometimes start pushing too hard to score on every swing and would get in a run of errors. That happened a bit in the Maryland match, and also toward the end of the 2nd last night I started to get worried. But she straightened it out. Only 4 errors all match I think.

Byrd to Texas. Gotta say I’m pretty peeved at this one. Best of luck to her.
I mean good on Texas and Nebraska for continuing to attract talent, but not envious of the roster management.
While Robinson rates much higher than her PVB ranking and Orzol is certainly a starter for most teams, the Badgers last top 10 recruits were Hilley and Rettke in 2017. Something is off and I don’t know what it is.

Wrobel and Danrow are top 15 and 10 top 10 respectively. Not sure anything is off, other than losing Gorham to injury and Anthouli both were late in recruiting cycle. Sheff is just going to have to work hard for 2024, but can still find some transfers and maybe some international recruits for 2023

I was looking at available possibilities for pin hitters for ‘23, and Blyashov along with Kendal Murphy stand out to me. I think Blyashov probably plays in Cali. But what about Murphy? Is she being recruited by the Badgers...if anyone knows? A whip of an arm. Seems like she has a good backcourt game, and can play RS too.

Brandewie is the only other 2023 we know from media reports is considering Wisconsin. Word is she would be having an official visit after returning from the U18 tournament she was playing with Team USA. Beyond that it’s anyone’s guess.

That's good to hear. We could use her in 2023. One thing that seems to bother me, is that we can't seem to nab any talent from Texas, while PSU, Nebraska, Ohio State, Purdue and Minnesota have all recruited well out of Texas. Is Mafison too liberal for these athletes? I am mystified as to why we can't nab a Texan.
