I want some bingos! Just putting it out there. Since it was mentioned earlier in this thread that Brandewie was at a Badger camp, i am hoping this bodes well for us and Wisconsin is her top choice. Another question I would like to ask: Is it too late in recruiting cycle for Sheff to secure any international recruits for 2022 or 2023?

Probably not, assuming that potential international recruits have their ducks in a row (academics, TOEFL, amateurism).
I also think the transfer portal is going to be big for us in 2022. With super-seniors counting against your 12 scholarships starting in 2022 I foresee a lot of people transferring to use up their eligibility.

I have no doubt Wisconsin will have some good fortune with the transfer portal this year and next year, if needed Unlike Nebraska,Texas, Florida and others, Wisconsin will have numerous scholarships in 2024, so I anticipate a top-rated class, even though the competition is stiffer with the SEC on the rise. Also, because of the abbreviated COVID19 year, are Hamill, Demps and Robinson essentially freshman (eligibility-wise) this fall? With Hart out the remainder of the year abd Robinson moving to the middle, is it too late to redshirt Smrek? She only played 2-3 matches.

If Smrek was injured enough she couldn't play the rest of the season, she could get a medical redshirt, but I hope it isn't that serious. Also, the Badgers are in win now mode this year, so 2024 can sort itself out later. The only concern with that is having players develop, working on a process that hopefully has them as a fearsome group of seniors then.

Sorry for the probably already answered question (but I forget): Can Hamill still redshirt this year if she wants to?

I am also focused on this year but also like to discuss the futer of the program in relation to how other programs are recruiting and future potential.

Are you sure? She’s played. I had completely forgotten that she "played" vs TCU; she served one ball, and that was it? I'm not sure whether or not that precludes a voluntary redshirt. If it does - and the UW coaches certainly do know - it would obviously mean that they and Hamell have definitely decided she isn't interested in taking a redshirt.

I’m pretty sure the “number of games played” business is only relevant for medical redshirts.

Everytime I say someone might be getting redshirted, Sheffield goes ahead and plays them next match. He's toying with me.

Per a pre-game conversation I had:
- Civita ACL: no surgery, has hopes to play again yet this year. - Gregorski: stepped on a foot during practice, moderate fracture of her fibula (is it good news that it isn't her knee this rime?), out maybe another month.

Man, Gregorski has spent more of her college career broken than healthy. Hope she can pull it together for the latter half of her career.
