Last weekend she was dressed in "ready to play" clothes, but tonight she was back in "not available" clothes. So that means yet another setback? Geez, I hope not. Me too! Wishing the best for her!

So Gio just straight-up doesn’t have an ACL. And she’s back out there. I’m impressed. "And she’s coming to grips with the idea that pro volleyball most likely is not part of her future." I guess you never know. Hines Ward didn't have an ACL in one of his knees, and he's a borderline Hall of Famer. John Elway too, apparently.

I’m pretty sure the fact that she wasn’t dressed at Nebraska is because of the Big Ten travel roster cap, which is 16. We have 18 players on our roster. We can dress all of them at home but two of them have to be in street clothes on the road. Makes sense to have it be the two players on the injury list, Gregorski and Hart.

Wisconsin definitely won Twitter this Halloween season. There's still one more match to go, on the 31st. They're quite likely not done yet.

So thoughts on last match? Smrek? Think Robinson will come around offensively?

So thoughts on last match? Smrek? Think Robinson will come around offensively? Im impressed with how Smrek rose to the occasion. It’ll be interesting to see how she reacts as teams scout her more. She has a very high ceiling, though. (Pun intended.) Robinson…. She needs to work on timing with Hilley and on that 31 - she hits out if she tries to hit to her right. I have confidence in her.

She has a very high ceiling, though. (Pun intended.) Robinson…. She needs to work on timing with Hilley and on that 31 - she hits out if she tries to hit to her right. I have confidence in her. Smrek played really well and did a few things that were marked improvements over past matches. She hit high, and was given sets that took advantage of her reach. The latter is probably most important. She wasn't always hitting cross and down into the meat of the block. I liked her line shot. She also tipped when the block was well-formed and used the last couple feet of the court. Yay! Robinson befuddles me. Some of it is the setting, but so much more of it is her vision. She saw the block so well on the right but seems to be hitting into the single block more often than not. Perhaps it's because she's used to time to see the block on the right and in HS, she wasn't getting blockers showing one way and diving to her primary shot? She is also a bit slower than Dana to close. I'm hoping those things improve. While I am generally pretty thrilled with Hilley, she doesn't seem able to push middle to Robinson the same way she was channeling to Danielle on the 3-1. Robinson gives a pretty big window in that she gets up and she can hang. I think it's as much about Robinson's confidence as it is about the set. Like i said, I'm befuddled.

So thoughts on last match? Smrek? Think Robinson will come around offensively? barnes - Never have to worry about getting a full days work from her gio - I trust no one more if the ball is right at her. She definitely is limited on the move. Early in the year, I think she just takes that free ball that fell by smrek. boyer - Knows/plays her role. I don't see her as an optimal full time libero for next year though. rettke - I guess we have to let her have one bad set for the year. She was obviously the #1 focus of Neb. Getting the sweep without the normal rettke night hopefully gives the team added confidence hilley - Just plays winning hilley ball, game in and game out orzol - Struggled a bit, but stays fearless. She can get stuffed one play, and if the next swing calls for another hard hit, she will not shy away or shrink. Really fortunate to have her this year. robinson - Some room for improvement with recent hitting and blocking awareness. Hopefully, it's just a getting comfortable back in the middle thing and she keeps those rockets inside the lines and anticipates the block play sooner loberg - Great badger. Just need her to find that next level of consistency for the stretch run smrek - Could end up being the key to making it to the promised land. Court awareness will come with experience; just have to play to her strengths for now

Let's not forgot how important it's been for Barnes and Ashburn serving to get the team on a scoring run.
When the team is down 4-5 and either one comes up to serve, I know the team has a chance to get right back.
