But that could all become moot when Civita returns, and she took 'full' part in warmups last night, albeit at less than 'full speed'. This is good to hear

I hope they figure some stuff out before they go to Minnesota.

I'm not the first person to wonder why the Badgers didn't get any 2023 commitments other than Damrow, who committed a few years ago. This could be down to all sorts of things. Possible playing time, fit, weather... A single year sample is a small numbers game. Wrobel is good. If Anthouli had decided to come the badgers would have been formidable next year. Each person makes decisions according to their situation. Sheff and co have recruited pretty well. Not as well as Texas and Nebraska in terms of prep rankings, perhaps, but well. I'd also wonder about the team fit of a player who was pushing to be given an offer in the 7th grade.

Where do you think Wisconsin goes in the rankings after this week?
7? Have to wait on Purdue and and MN but maybe they go to 5.

The team still has their destiny in their own hands, so I'd still prefer to be the badgers than anyone else. They have the capacity to win out. But the margins are really tight now.

On the other hand, teams have ups and downs during the year. The badgers got a really good Purdue squad twice during a down time. Bad luck, but it shouldn't be a reason to panic, despite my frustration at having only had time to watch them during these down periods in the B1G this year. The two Purdue losses in close proximity are giving me 2019 back to back Washington loss vibes. I’d be okay if they respond similarly this year. (Especially since a 12 win streak would get us beyond our first NCAA trophy 😉) But realistically, I’m hoping we take at least 1 from MN and NE and take care of the rest while solidifying the pieces we need for the tournament.

So who should we root for in MN vs. Purdue?

So who should we root for in MN vs. Purdue? By the numbers, Purdue. But I would really prefer that the badgers just step on the gas and win this themselves.

Sheffield presser. For Civita, Sheff thinks it's not a question of if but when she comes back. Strength coach calls her the black knight after Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

The Badgers need to figure out things before playing Michigan State. Sparty did beat Purdue, unlike them (I get Purdue was not 100%). A low drama match would be good. Then, figure out how to get by the Gophers again (anyone got any spare Kryptonite?).

This is not the Sheffield I know in this presser. He appears fatigued, almost in pain.

I've seen him way more exhausted, and often sick this time of year. He's holding up pretty well from what I can see.

Yeah, seems the same. Or the same for November. Actually, better. Usually in November he has a terrible cold and looks terrible. So the mask wearing may have saved him from a cold!
