I want to know if Rettke/Samedy/Stivrins aren't saying anything because they are negotiating pro contracts or if they are figuring out their grad degree.
I mean, Lilley's contract was only officially announced a couple of days ago, right? Maybe they are still in negotiations? Although the more time goes on, the more I feel like they are all coming back. Guess they all want to be the 1st ever 5-time All Americans?

Without Samedy I’d be surprised to see the gophers in the top 4 maybe in ztop 5 I agree, without Samedy, Shaffmaster and Landfair will have to become a lot more consistent let alone avoid the Sophomore jinx for the gophers to stay in the top 4 of the league even if Rettke and Stivrins do move on. I'm not sure but I thought the Sophomore (renamed 2nd year at PSU?) jinx is only something that happens if you had an outstanding 1st year!? I think all the first year girls will come back with a renewed confidence of one year of practice and play under their belt. Shaffmaster should definitely benefit from being with the collegiate National Team

I would say that the three of them all would drive the highest salaries--there's more to consider. Then if you do decide to come back, you do need to do stuff like make sure you get into graduate school, make sure you get athletic insurance, and who knows what other paperwork. I'm not sure a situation like this has ever happened before.

It is weird to me how quiet things are on the Rettke/Samedy/Stivrins front. I mean, don't they know we're on pins and needles here? I don't want to have to go try to interpret emojis and comments on social media They are being very selfish and inconsiderate.

Shaffmaster should definitely benefit from being with the collegiate National Team It certainly won't hurt, but I'm hesitant to say anyone (and especially a setter) will "definitely benefit." There's only five days of practice and the coaches there are explicitly going to use training that "will align with the expectations of the U.S. Women’s National Team’s coaches and staff." I don't know that five days of learning the Karch system with new players will provide a lot of benefit.

Shaffmaster's "peers" are now some of the best players in the country. Anytime you get to be around the "cream of the crop" it's got to be more of a positive than a negative.

I know her AAU game vs Kennedi Orr is on YouTube but they were both so young and have developed so much since then.

Thanks to canamvballdad and others for getting this thread back on track. I figure I contributed to the derailment might as well try to get us back on track. Also I love when someone comes to shut the barn door well after the horses have left and have been rounded up on their own.
